Morgan recently teased that she was recording scenes. Viewers will soon learn how Amanda’s return impacts current events.

Readers of this site know that Morgan voluntarily dropped to recurring status earlier this year, citing a desire to spend more time with her young family. Hopefully, a balance exists that allows this Daytime Emmy-award winning (2022) actor to remain on Y&R indefinitely, even on a sporadic basis.

It will be interesting to see if Amanda and Devon maintain their romantic connection considering her presumed need to be with Naya most of the time.

Devon and Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) have been friends for many years. They were also briefly connected romantically in the past.

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is teased to happen upon a moment between his wife and Devon that causes some confusion. It could be that Abby learns about the strain Amanda’s absence has caused Devon.

However, a reasonable development could have Abby and Devon grow closer this fall. Fans know that she and Chance have disagreed about his focus on work. That plot line felt a bit pushed and would be an easy entrance point for Abby to seek solace with her old friend, who is also the donor father of Dominic Newman Abbott Winters Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).

Just as Devon has a non-traditional connection to his son, Dom, so does Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) have a different type of bond with James’ character. The late Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) is the man Devon considers his father.

Neil was Devon’s dad in every sense of the word. But his absence and Tucker’s return creates a daytime dynamic that may lead to a renewal.

Devon is not yet aware of Tucker’s plans to take control of Chancellor-Winters. But soapy circumstances and some emotional manipulation may result in these men forging a business and personal alliance on Y&R.
