Royal Family News: King Charles “Caused Damage” By Banning Prince Harry From Wearing Military Uniform to Queen’s Funeral

British royal family news divulges that some royal experts believe that the drama surrounding Prince Harry at the time of Queen Elizabeth’s death and her subsequent funeral escalated tensions between him and his family.

King Charles initially forbid Prince Harry from wearing his military uniform to the funeral and although the decision was reversed, it could have further hampered peace negotiations.

Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly on the Wednesday, October 26 episode of the “Royally Us” podcast: “I think that [reconciliation] might have been the intention, but the king’s decision to initially not permit Harry to wear his uniform and during this funeral [and the] fact that at times, it seemed as if Harry and Megan were being shoved in the background and even shunned, that did a lot of damage, I think. So, I have to wait and see where they go with this.”

The royal watcher also thinks that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could nail the final nail in their royal coffin with the publication of Harry’s upcoming memoir, reported to drop January 10. “There could only be bombshells in that book. There’s no way to avoid the fact that it’s going to rub the king the wrong way.”

Andersen added that the runaway royals have, “set up a new life for themselves as philanthropists and communications moguls with the Spotify deal, the Netflix deal, all this other going on. [Really, their hands are tied, I think, to some extent.”

To date the couple have been on a two year old rant against his family, and as Andersen notes, they brag about wanting, “to tell the full and true story” of their time as royals but, “it’s not necessarily a pretty,” tale.

The couple defected from the monarchy in 2020, in a scandal move termed Megxit. Because of their decision, former military man Harry was not in uniform during Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Trooping the Colour celebration in June 2022.

But when disgraced Prince Andrew was given permission to wear his military uniform to the queen’s final vigil, “as a special mark of respect,” it was announced afterward that disgraced Harry would be given the same leniency. Royal watcher Omid Scobie tweeted, “In a dramatic u-turn, palace officials have informed Prince Harry that he CAN wear his military uniform at a final vigil.

On Saturday evening, Harry will join seven other grandchildren at Westminster Hall to stand in silence for 15 minutes by the Queen’s coffin.” In reality, this concession may mean that while Harry won the battle, he may have lost the war.
