The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) relationship might soon blow up. Lily minimized Billy’s worry about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) bolting out of the Glam Club, with Billy ignoring Lily’s apathy and saving Chelsea’s life by stopping her from suicide.

If Billy hadn’t ignored Lily’s seeming apathy about Chelsea’s desperate condition, Chelsea would have been a suicide statistic that night, but Lily didn’t have a clue. Lily may fail to realize Billy’s been there, on the brink of taking his life after his daughter with Chloe Mitchell, (Elizabeth Hendrickson) Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) was killed. That is what started the hatred between Billy and Chloe and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) because Adam ran Delia over, albeit accidentally, and Billy went off the rails.

Billy knew the signs of deep despondency and desperation, and he rushed out to look for Chelsea at the spot on the roof where he taught her primal screaming. Billy took action, wrestling Chelsea off the ledge where she had fully intended to jump and end her life, while inside Lily passed it off as her being a drama queen.

Y & R Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Crossed A Line

Chelsea and Billy once had an affair and that is how her older son Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) was conceived. Billy and his then wife Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) adopted Johnny when Chelsea was not in a position to take care of him. During the podcast that Chelsea and Billy did together towards its end, “The Grinning Soul” Chelsea misread Billy’s interest in her, crossed a line and gave him a kiss. Billy set Chelsea straight and took care to explain to Lily, lest somehow it get back to her, trying to do damage control beforehand. Now Lily becomes suspicious of Billy’s continued caretaking of Chelsea, thinking there’s more there than meets the eyes.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – A Lack Of Compassion

Billy will continue to help Chelsea because his empathy for her deep depression and grief strikes a nerve in him because of his own experiences. Lily, however will feel neglected and Billy will view her as having a lack of compassion, a real turn off for him. To Billy, Lily will seem callous even after he explains what happened on the rooftop even if she tries to be compassionate.

Lily will feel that someone else besides Billy should be helping her with her depression, maybe Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) professionally. But because Billy will have a connection with Chelsea that Sharon will never have, Lily and Billy will likely drift apart.
