General Hospital spoilers reveal, hot off the presses! The word is out! Disney has dropped their vaccine mandate, and with that, employees on ABC sets are free to discontinue receiving Covid-19 vaccines if they so choose. This leaves quite an opening for Steve Burton to return and reprise the role of Jason Morgan as so many die hard GH fans are hoping he will. However, news has just broken that Days of Our Lives has offered Steve a contracted role reprising the character of Harris Michaels. Fret not, GH fans. There is plenty of time for Jason Morgan’s return — again.
General Hospital Spoilers — We’ve Seen This Before
This isn’t the first time Steve Burton has left Gh fans in the lurch and longing for more Jason. In fact, it’s one of his shorter time spans offscreen. Before he returned in the Fall of 2017, Steve had been working on other projects and absent from Port Charles for more than five years. His most recent exit in November 2021 was just one year ago. It came on the heels of ABC parent company Disney’s decision not to honor Steve’s request for a religious exemption to their Covid-19 vaccine mandate. While Steve disagreed with the decision, he left peacefully and appeared to keep a cordial relationship and contract intact with General Hospital production.
GH Spoilers – Tease His Time on DOOL Will Be Short Lived
DOOL fans might love Harris Michaels, but the face and name Steve Burton are nearly synonymous with Jason Morgan in the soap world. Eventually, fans think Steve will come home to ABC, despite the controversy that drove him away. Jason’s storyline was intentionally left undone so that it could be reprised when the time was right. While most fans would expect that the right time would align with Disney dropping their mandate, all the stars have to align. Burton’s life has moved on in the last year and he has other projects in the mix. The fans will continue to support him and long for his return to Port Charles.
General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Will Be Waiting
In the meantime, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has done some moving on of her own — with Jason’s twin brother, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). While the pair were hot to trot in Florida, their recent crash landing back in Port Charles has left things up in the air while they try to figure out how to calm the waters with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and avoid any suspicion of insider trading. This could extend the timeline during which we see Carly and Drew pursue a relationship, possibly dragging it out a bit. When they do come back together, one might expect an intense relationship lies ahead. You know, the kind that lets Carly finally breathe — just before Jason comes back to claim his love for her? Stay tuned right here for more GH news, updates, and spoilers headed your way.
