The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is spiraling, and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) takes action. She might be the one who brings her brother Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) to town, needing family reinforcements.

Phyllis has been trying very hard to keep her emotions under control when it comes to her years long rival Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) but she’s losing the battle. All of Phyllis’ plots to drive Diane out of town have failed, even those she worked on with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). Revealing Diane was connected to Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) in Los Angeles and being an illegal money mule for Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) didn’t work.

Diane had gotten to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) ahead of Phyllis’ exposé and confessed everything to him first, putting herself in a more sympathetic position. As a result, Jack is digging his heels in defending Diane, feeling sorry for her, meaning Diane wins and Phyllis loses, and it could drive Phyllis over the edge.

Y & R Spoilers – Jack Abbott’s Priorities Off

As far as Phyllis is concerned, Jack’s priorities are way off, even having told Ashley to back off Diane because he didn’t care if she had more secrets. He even told his own sister to leave Diane alone, wanting to preserve her relationship with their son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and grandson Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Worse yet, Jack seems protective of Diane, proving that he again has become fond of her, which leaves Phyllis totally out in the cold where even a friendship is concerned.

Jack had broken things off with Phyllis when she bragged about having sex with him to Diane, but if she can’t have him she doesn’t want anyone to. And especially not her rival for Jack going back years, Diane; she wants Jack happy but not with her.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Operation Save Mom From Herself

Summer may feel it’s time to launch “Operation save Mom from herself” realizing Phyllis is spiraling and isolated. Even her best friend Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is leaving, having been devastated by catching her boyfriend in bed with his baby mama. Taking care of her birth mother, Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) who is recovering from a serious stroke is understandable but she’s moving there now.

Summer could very well send out an SOS call to Daniel to come to town and help save Mom from herself; and his father will soon show up as well. Whether Daniel and Danny Romalotti’s (Michael Damian) upcoming return to Genoa City are due to Summer’s SOS calls remain to be seen.
