General Hospital Alum Steve Burton and Sheree Burton’s Divorce Gets Messy, Ex-Wife Makes Demands

General Hospital spoilers former GH star Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan) has been involved in a bitter divorce with his estranged wife Sheree Burton. Sheree has demanded monthly spousal supposed even though she announced that she was pregnant with another man’s child. Will Burton be forced to pay for this child?

General Hospital spoilers reveal Sheree and Steve have been involved in a nasty divorce. Sheree responded to the divorce petition filed by Steve in Orange county California this week. Steve had filed for divorce in June after 23 years of marriage. Burton cited “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce petition. Sheree and Steve separated on March 1, 2022.

The divorce came about shortly after Sheree posted a photo online announcing her pregnancy. Fans began to congratulate Steve on the new baby only to find out it wasn’t his.

Steve responded to the thank you messages by replying that Sheree was pregnant but the baby was not his. This is, however, Sheree’s fourth child. Steve and Sheree share three children, Makena Burton, 18, Jack Burton, 16, and Brooklyn Burton, 7.

General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton Wants Joint Custody Of Their Kids

Steve asked for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s kids. However, Steve specifically asked for Sheree to not receive spousal support. In Sheree’s response, she agrees with the divorce whole-heartedly. Sheree also does not dispute the date of separation. The two even agree on the custody of the kids. However, that is where the agreement ends.

Sheree believes she is entitled to spousal support and that Steve should pay up. The judge has yet to rule on this but Steve is adamant that this is not his child. Perhaps in his thinking, if his spouse is pregnant by someone else, they should be the one supporting her. After all, Steve’s obligation is to the children they share and not the children Sheree has with someone else or her after she has moved on.

RadarOnline.com reported before the divorce that Steve and Sheree had sold their 3-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 1,827 sq. ft. condo in Corona Del Mar for $3.2 million according to real estate records. It seems that the family’s drama began after Steve lost his job as Jason Morgan. “Look, the circumstance [of my GH departure] was tough and you know, that’s just the way it is,” he told Deadline. “I’ll always be grateful for my time there. It was my family for so long. I grew up there and the fans have always been awesome to me. But again, some doors shut and other doors open.”

Another door opened to Days of Our Lives when he was asked to join Beyond Salem 2. Now Steve is set to reprise his daytime starting role as Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives as a regular on Peacock. Steve should begin appearing sometime after the first of the year according to published reports.
