The Young and the Restless spoilers document Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has thrown in the soapy towel. He did that easily, suggesting that Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) was never number one.

Chance does love Abby. So, it would be wrong to claim that Floyd’s character was never committed to his wife. He was, but it is arguable to claim Chance was not ready to get married.

Devoted fans know that Chance does not have a deep serious relationship history. He was involved with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Heather Stevens (last played by Jennifer Landron), who is Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) daughter and who appears to be Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) significant other.

He and Abby fell hard for each other. Their courtship, an old-school term used by those who value respect for others, included Chance dropping from the ceiling of the Grand Phoenix Hotel during a hostage storyline.

TPTB created a feel-good build to the eventual marriage and a memorable honeymoon. But disruption became the norm from then on, with Abby believing that Chance put his job above her and their son.

Y&R Spoilers – Devon Hamilton Was Not In Love

Devon was in love with Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). But she died due to the injuries she suffered in a car accident. The unborn child she was carrying died the day of the accident.

Both incidents changed Devon’s life. Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) became Devon’s next love. But that pairing did not prove to be lasting. He followed it by joining with Hilary’s identical twin sister, Amanda Sinclair (Morgan).

But Amanda’s mother’s illness required her to be out of town for months. That led to loneliness and vulnerability.

Abby felt unsettled in her marriage, and she and Devon impulsed into a cavort at the penthouse. But Devon and Abby were not in love before the connected.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Abby Newman Abbott Hamilton?

Is a name revision coming, where Abby erases Chancellor and adds Hamilton? Maybe.

Kudos to the writing staff for creating a pairing that is believable. Abby and Chance have been friends for many years. Devon’s generous donation, Abby’s preserved eggs, and Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) selflessness, allowed Dominic Newman Abbott Winters Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) to be born.

Abby and Devon’s bond through Dom was real and Chance felt it. His lack of deep experience, beyond the marriage to Abby, is likely causing him to pull the plug early on their marriage.

If Chance does not change his mind, Abby and Devon have a real chance to become a couple because Amanda is gone on Y&R.
