Kirstie Alley Achieved Highest Scientology Status Before Death, Sparking Treatment Questions

Kirstie Alley recently died at age 71. And as family, friends, and fans mourned, the cause of her death became known. But now some want to look at what role Kirstie’s Scientology faith might have played in an alleged treatment delay.

Find out about Alley’s Scientology background. And learn why some have questions about how it affected her medical treatment. Get all the details below.

Kirstie Alley – Believed In Scientology: Did It Impact Cancer Treatment?

Beloved for her roles such as Cheers, Kirstie Alley could tackle a comedic role like no other actress. But what no one knew except for those close to her: Kirstie spent the past few months battling colon cancer. And the disease has become known as the silent killer because symptoms tend to hold off until the cancer has advanced, noted Page Six.

This week, Alley’s children broke the news of their 71-year-old mother’s death. And her son True and daughter Lillie honored Kirstie as an “incredible, fierce and loving mother.” But in addition to spending her final weeks with her children and grandchildren, Kirstie turned to doctors for help. Her children shared that doctors “only recently discovered” the cancer.

Alley had sought treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. She lived in a city near Tampa, Clearwater. And she resided close to Scientology headquarters.

Scientology Leaders Will Hold Kirstie Alley Memorial Service

In their tribute, True and Lillie shared that their mother passed “surrounded by her closest family.” And they described how Kirstie “fought with great strength.” As a result, the siblings shared that their mother left them “with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.”

For her last Thanksgiving with her family, Alley invited her Twitter followers to share their own favorite holiday dishes. And she declared that she personally cooked up the greatest gravy in the world. But behind her humor, she was losing her battle with cancer.

Insiders revealed that Scientology leaders plan to arrange a memorial service for Alley at the Flag Land Base in Clearwater. After a childhood as a Methodist, the actress turned to Scientology in 1979 to help her with her addiction to cocaine. And Kirstie achieved the highest level, known as Operating Thetan Level VIII.

Kirstie Alley – Suffered From Back Pain Before Colon Cancer Diagnosis

However, as news spread about Alley’s colon cancer diagnosis, some asked what role Scientology played in her medical treatment. Kirstie has become the third in a row of famous Scientologists to die from cancer. John Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston passed away from breast cancer in July 2020. And jazz pianist Chick Corea lost his battle with cancer in 2021.

Scientology blogger Tony Ortega revealed what he knew about Alley’s death. And he shared that she had struggled with back pain before learning about her cancer. Ortega noted, “Scientology’s first book, ‘Dianetics,’ is built on the idea that most human ailments are psychosomatic and can be cured.” As a result, Scientologists who become sick follow their training. And that involves looking first for a “Scientology solution” rather than medical treatment, shared the blogger.
