Coronation Street Alum Gray O’Brien Completes Treatment for Tonsil Cancer, Thanks Everyone for Support

Coronation Street alum Gray O’Brien revealed that he was diagnosed with stage four tonsil cancer. He has been undergoing treatment for the past three months. However, that treatment is now complete and the actor was pleased to share the news with his fans. Keep reading to get all the details.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Gray O’Brien on Corrie
The Corrie alum is best known for portraying killer Tony Gordon on the British soap opera. He made his debut on the ITV series on September 16, 2007. His final appearance was on June 1, 2010. For those that don’t recall O’Brien on Corrie or who weren’t watching back then, he had relationships with Carla Connor (Alison King) and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).
He is known as being one of the TV show’s most memorable villains.
Corrie Spoilers – Tonsil Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
The former Corrie actor went to the doctor when he was experiencing swollen glands. He never expected it to turn into a scary diagnosis, much less stage 4 tonsil cancer. He immediately sought treatment and has gone through it with success. O’Brien wrote on Twitter,
“About 3 months ago a trip to the doctors with swollen glands led to stage four tonsil cancer. Today marks the end of my treatment & I couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who has supported me along the way.”

Ever since he came out about the news, everyone has showered him with encouragement and support. Cancer is a horrible disease and takes so many lives. We are thankful that he got diagnosed and treated in time, and that was able to ring that victory bell. Here’s to hoping he continues having a clean bill of health in the future.
