Even though Meghan Markle insists that she was never trained nor was she ever given a handbook about her new life as a royal, sources behind the scenes say that is a total lie. In the new Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex claims that she wasn’t given any support from the royal family when it came to certain parts about her new job. Meghan said that she had no idea how she was to dress, didn’t know what a walkabout was and had to google Britain’s national anthem.

Yet, The Daily Beast says that those claims aren’t true. One tipster said that Meghan might not be telling the truth about her princess training as, “There was prep for everything, walkabouts—even though she was engaged to someone who’d done hundreds of them—clothes, everything. The level of support was intense.”

What’s more, the source also says that it’s not true that the palace had advised Meghan not to invite her niece Ashleigh Hale to her royal wedding back in 2018. That’s because they said it would have been bad optics to have invited Ashleigh and not her biological mother, Samantha Markle.

Yet, the insider says, “That just didn’t happen. We never gave any advice, steer or guidance on who of her family or friends should or shouldn’t come to her wedding. I have a very clear memory of her [Meghan] saying that she had a niece who she would in other circumstances have liked to invite, but she didn’t want to invite her because it would have put her under intense scrutiny. It was not a question she put to us. We would never tell her not to invite her own niece to the wedding and we would never get involved in any management of personal relationships.”
