British Royal News: Prince William Freaked When Meghan Markle Tried To Hug Him

British Royal News says that at this point it’s safe to say that Prince William certainly did not like her from the get-go. According to Prince Harry’s new book, Spare, he says that his brother recoiled when his wife Meghan tried to hug him for the first time. Here’s what you need to know.

Apparently, Prince William felt anything but comfortable when Meghan Markle wrapped her arms around him for the very first time. The Prince of Wales was not used to having other people put their hands on him and that is probably why he reacted the way he did. “[It] completely freaked him out,” Harry wrote in an excerpt from Spare. “He recoiled. Willy didn’t hug many strangers. Whereas Meg hugged most strangers.”

“When meeting my grandmother [Queen Elizabeth II], I’d made it clear — this is the queen,” Harry continued. “But when meeting my brother, it was just Willy, who loved Suits.”

Strangely enough, Harry also said in his book that William and his wife Kate Middleton were huge fans of Suits, the legal drama that Meghan Markle was on for several seasons. And while William and Kate were huge fans of the show, that didn’t mean that they were huge fans of Harry’s new girlfriend. In fact, it seemed like William didn’t like Meghan from the get-go and that he made himself pretty clear about it, too.

“I was baffled, until Willy and Kate explained that they were regular — nay, religious — viewers of Suits,” Harry recalled. “Great, I thought, laughing. I’ve been worrying about the wrong thing. All this time I’d thought Willy and Kate might not welcome Meg into the family, but now I had to worry about them hounding her for an autograph.”
