Chrisley Family News – No Country Club For Todd And Julie Chrisley
Chrisley Family news reveals that, according to PEOPLE, at least one legal expert says the Florida federal prisons that the Chrisleys are being sent to are “no country club.” In November, Todd and Julie were sentenced to 12 years and seven years, respectively, in separate federal prison facilities.
This comes after a jury convicted the pair of bank fraud and tax evasion to the tune of $30 million. On January 17 Todd, 54, will begin his 12-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, while his embattled wife Julie will be serving her seven years roughly 130 miles away at Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna. Veteran defense attorney Paul Cambria told PEOPLE that the couple’s prisons are “still confinement” before adding that “a camp is the best place to be.”
Chrisley Family News – Todd Chrisley’s Prison: A Relaxed Atmosphere?
“They’re almost like a college dormitory situation. There are usually no fences or barbed wire, or things like that. There’s obviously monitors and cameras and so on, but it is a fairly relaxed atmosphere.” The Bureau of Prisons describes FPC Pensacola, where Todd is headed, as a male-only security prison camp sitting on 23 acres of land.
According to PEOPLE, a 2022 Prison Rape Elimination Act Audit Report revealed that the camp averages a daily population of around 324 inmates between the ages of 22 and 80. The prison offers counseling programs and vocational training and an “inmate workforce to support Navy operations,” at places like Naval Airstation Pensacola mostly in the area of maintenance and labor.
The facility offers counseling programs, vocational training, and an “inmate workforce to support Navy operations,” including at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, predominantly in the areas of “grounds maintenance and common labor-type work,” the report reads.
Julie Chrisley’s Prison – For White Collar, Non-Violent
FCI/FPC Marianna, on the other hand, is described as a medium security setup, with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp. There, roughly 1,000 inmates, both male, and female are confined. 200 others are imprisoned in the camp area, according to the Bureau of Prisons. At Marianna, there are also educational opportunities, wellness instruction, and team and individual sports, according to its 2021 Prison Rape Elimination Act Audit Report.
“The camps are basically for white collar, non-violent — a lot of dollars-and-cents kind of crimes,” says Cambria, “things where violence is not involved.” The prisons will be populated by primarily “businesspeople, professionals, lawyers, doctors, dentists and accountants,” adds the attorney.
