General Hospital Spoilers: Newfound Hope, Desperate Measures, Worrisome News, Lives At Risk

General Hospital spoilers and updates for Monday, January 30-Friday, February 3 tease hope, worry and fear as Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) makes a decision. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) gives hope to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) while Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) worries to Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) in tears.

General Hospital Spoilers: Hope

Nina is relieved when Sonny gives her hope for her newfound daughter as he tells her there may be a way to save Willow’s life. Dr. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) had suggested to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow that a stem cell transplant from the baby’s cord blood and placenta might cure Willow’s leukemia.

Willow decides to go through the caesarian section to deliver the baby girl a couple of weeks early because they were running out of options.

Nina was tested, but her genetic markers were not right in some way to be able to give Willow a bone marrow transplant, and Nina lost it. Everyone is hopeful that this stem cell procedure will work, because that is Willow’s only chance.

GH Spoilers: Worry

Elsewhere, Josslyn worries to Dex  about Willow, likely as she is in the operating room undergoing the procedure. Josslyn worries that Willow may not wake up, and what happens then-is there a chance neither mother or baby survives? Even though procedures like this have been done many times and the implication is that it is low risk to the baby, what about the risk to Willow herself?

But this stem cell transplant is Willow’s only option, and she is rapidly failing and weakening with her leukemia in stage four, the last stage. Willow’s family and friends all are praying that the procedure is successful and mother and baby girl Corinthos will be fine; however, Michael will receive worrisome news.

General Hospital Spoilers: Tears

At the hospital, Drew comes upon a weeping Carly in a hallway of GH, appearing to be in front of the doors to an operating room. Drew takes her hands as in alarm, he asks if Willow had a setback; apparently, it doesn’t look good and she’s gotten the worrisome news from Michael. Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) prepares Willow for surgery, but as Willow is under anesthesia, someone cries out her name!

It sounds like there is alarm in the operating room over Willow, and perhaps Josslyn’s fears are right-has she had a bad reaction to the anesthesia? If Willow were to stop breathing for even a few minutes, both mother and baby could die!
