Carly Pearce is going places, and one of those places involves an exciting recognition by music’s biggest awards show. If you’re still wondering what that is, it’s called the Grammys.
The singer received her first nomination for her duet with Ashley McBryde. Is she going to win? She’s not worked up about it. She’s happy as it is knowing that she’ll get to be in the same room as Adele and Beyoncé.
Carly Pearce – Talks About Her Grammy Nomination And Why She’s Happy For Her Duet With Ashley McBryde To Get the Nod
The 32-year-old country star has received her first Grammy nomination in the best country duo/group performance category for teaming up with fellow country singer Ashley McBryde for the emotional single, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl”. The single was from Pearce’s latest album, “29: Written in Stone.”
Speaking on how she felt receiving her first Grammy nod, she said: “Oh my goodness. Obviously, you always dream of maybe being recognized by the Academy. And for me, this song was so personal …. for it to fall on this record that really has been life-changing in every way felt so special.”
The star also went on to vividly recall where she was and what she was doing when she found out she had been nominated. “I was actually in the studio working on new music, and my name came across the livestream. I just screamed and freaked out and I called my parents immediately. It was just a really special moment.
.@carlypearce remember that time we wrote us a song because we really really wanted to sing together?
And then it sent us on all kinds of adventures? And then we won a freaking GRAMMY?!

Carly Pearce – Is Happy To Finally Get This Validation
It only happens for the first time once. I talked to Ashley — it’s actually kind of cool. This wasn’t her first Grammy nomination, but it was mine. And it was not my first No. 1, but it was hers. So we’ve both experienced firsts through this single together, which is fun.”
After a decade doing music in Nashville, Carly Pearce is happy to finally get this validation, saying, “To be recognized at — to me — the most prestigious level of any music endeavor you could be a part of that feels really special. And I think that with the Grammys, there’s such an element of being critically acclaimed that is so key. Just to think that I am in that category for the year, is — as a musician and as a singer and as a songwriter — really amazing.”
