Parenting teenagers offers some special challenges. But for Denise Richards, parenting her teenager Lola Sheen means doing so in the spotlight. And now the Bold And The Beautiful star found herself needing to defend her decision to buy a Mercedes-Benz for the 17-year-old via Page Six.

However, Denise explained why she bought the car for Lola after her daughter “totaled” her Volkswagen. “People are going to be like, ‘Oh, you got her another car.’ It was about five or six months later,” clarified the actress. And the 51-year-old mom of three turned to SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live show to explain her decision. 

Because the Mercedes-Benz seemed “very safe,” Richards felt like it seemed like a wise decision. However, she confessed she did not recall the exact model. But she compared it to a “sedan.”

B&B Spoilers – Denise Richards’ Daughter Crashes Volkswagen

Police reports showed that Lola ruined her Volkswagen in June 2022. And the California Highway Patrol described the teenager as trying to drive on a winding road late at night. However, Lola allegedly misjudged the situation and crashed into an embankment.

“Nobody was taken to the hospital,” revealed a spokesperson for the police. “But the minor driver complained of a headache after the collision.” However, Richards now insists that Lola did not actually cause the accident. And the Bold And The Beautiful star shared, “She protected the person driving.”

Denise felt confident that Lola did not drive during the accident. “And then finally [she] came clean.” But Richards did confess that her daughter “snuck out” prior to the car accident. And she also admitted that the Volkswagen appeared “totaled.”

The Bold And The Beautiful star expressed appreciation for the police. “The police officers were so wonderful,” praised Denise. “Because they said that there’s a car accident there almost every single weekend. And a lot of kids don’t survive it. It scared the f–king s–t out of her.”

Denise and her ex-husband Charlie Sheen share Lola and daughter Sami, 18. In addition, Richards adopted Eloise, now 11, in 2011. And in the wake of her divorce from Charlie, Richards married Aaron Phypers in 2018.
