Jack Nicholson’s Estranged Daughter Says She’s Not A Nepo Baby As She Didn’t Have A Relationship With Her Famous Father

The Nepo baby conversation is heating up and stars from all backgrounds are joining in the talk. But I’m sure we’ll love to have the opinion of a star who has a well-placed relative in the entertainment industry and yet struggled to make it. The worthy candidate is Tessa Gourin, Jack Nicholson‘s alleged daughter.

Yes, I said “alleged“. Nicholson is yet to publicly disclose that she’s his child.

Tessa Gourin On the Nepo Baby Conversation And How Her Relationship With Her Father Almost Ruined Her Acting Career

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, the 28-year-old actress opened up about her love for acting and how she was prohibited from doing so at a young age by her mom. However, when she grew up, there was another huddle she needed to cross to determine whether she truly wanted to make acting her career.

Last month, Gourin penned a piece for Newsweek, recalling how she “sa been t on the sidelines and watched in frustration as other celebrity children have seamlessly secured roles or signed to huge agencies.”

“It’s such a double-sided thing, because I can also understand the frustration of getting in the door, and then once you’re there it’s like, ‘Okay, now show us what you can do,’ ” Gourin continued. “But as an actor, that’s the most exciting thing to me. It’s a driving force to want to prove yourself. This guilty thing over ultimately having a gift is something you should just work out yourself, and put into your work.”

She also admitted that the Nepo baby conversation bothered her so much to the extent that she wanted to quit acting. In her mid-20s, she described feeling genuine fear that people might discredit all her hard work simply because she has a “famous father”. “I was afraid people would think I was tacky or that I was riding off his coattails,” she said. “But this person doesn’t want me in his life, so how would you use that to your benefit?”

Tessa Gourin – Says She Doesn’t Despise Her Estranged Father’s Acting Skills

As an actor, Gourin said she has respect for Nicholson. “I really want this to come across: If I were to discredit anything about his acting, then that wouldn’t make me an artist, because making art and being the world’s greatest dad are not the same thing,” she said.

Even though The Daily Beast described Gourin as a “splitting image” of the famous actor, he is yet to respond to the claims.

Nicholson has five other children from different women.
