King Charles Reacts To Prince Harry’s Coronation Demand

King Charles – Loves His Son, But Can’t Fulfill Harry’s Demand

Royal family insiders claim that the Palace has prepared for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to attend the coronation. And that preparation includes taking measures not to let the Duke and Duchess of Sussex steal the spotlight from King Charles. However, Harry himself reached out to Charles to make a demand about the coronation, according to the Express.

Before deciding whether to attend the coronation, Harry asked King Charles to make time to meet with his son. And the Duke of Sussex explained that he wanted his father to discuss what has separated them. However, insiders shared that King Charles III “won’t have time” to meet privately with Harry before the coronation.

“Charles adores Harry and wants him to be there. But he has a coronation to organize,” said an insider. “He simply won’t have the time to organize a special meeting with Harry.” And another royal expert sees that rejection as a harsh response to his youngest son. Because the King reportedly refused a face-to-face session with Harry prior to the coronation, that refusal may play a role in whether or not the Duke of Sussex attends the event.

Meghan Markle – Feels ‘Upset, Overwhelmed’

Prince Harry has hinted that he will base his decision on whether to attend the coronation on both his brother Prince William and his father King Charles. And he wants them both to meet with him to discuss his concerns. But Harry’s wife Meghan Markle feels “upset” at the situation, another insider told the Express.

And from the Duchess of Sussex’s viewpoint, Buckingham Palace only cares if Prince Harry attends King Charles’s Coronation. Meghan reportedly feels “overwhelmed” by watching the spotlight shift from her to her husband. However, that shift occurred after Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, received so much attention.

But Markle also got upset when she realized that the Coronation will take place on her son Archie’s fourth birthday. And that overlap combined with the rift makes her even more uncertain about whether to attend. Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield explained, “Meghan is upset and overwhelmed. It’s not that Meghan feels excluded with the planning. Meghan feels like the palace is only fighting for Prince Harry to attend,” noted the royal commentator. 

As a result, Markle believes that the palace doesn’t really “care whether she shows up or not. And that does not sit well with her. Rejection is one of Meghan’s greatest insecurities. She does not want to be booed or humiliated on a global scale, yet she understands that her brand stateside increases in value with her proximity to the Royal Family,” added Kinsey.
