When Calls The Heart Creator Brian Bird Signs Movie Deal With UPtv

Brian Bird is known for co-creating When Calls the Heart, but he is also involved in other movie projects, now with UPtv.

Brian Bird is known as one of the co-creators of When Calls the Heart, but what Hearties might not realize, he has other projects too. In fact, he has just inked a deal with another feel-good channel, UPtv. Read on to find out more about the creator’s latest deal and what fans can expect.

Brian Bird inks movie deal with UPtv

Co-creator Brian Bird has been a huge part of the When Calls the Heart community for more than 10 years. On top of this, he also started True Brand Entertainment with Tai Truesdell, Brandon Clark and Darin Chavez. Through True Brand, Bird has now signed a multi-picture licensing agreement with UPtv.

As reported by Variety, Bird and his company will be creating “a series of uplifting and values-friendly romantic comedies. However, while the announcement is new, the partnership started in the summer of 2022 with the movie, The Engagement Plot. That movie starred Trevor Donovan and Jacklyn Collier and was a popular hit.

The Happy Camper on UPtv

Lately, Bird’s company True Brand was involved in The Happy Camper, which premiered on UPtv in early February, starring real-life couple Daniela Bobadilla and Beau Wirick.

Speaking of his projects, Brian went on to describe the type of rom-coms UPtv viewers can expect from True Brand Entertainment. He said the content they are creating is “uplifting entertainment.”

Meanwhile, Brandon Clark also spoke of the stories they will tell, saying, “The goal for the stories we want to tell can be summed up in an acronym, ‘H.E.R.O.’ We work hard to make films that are filled with Humor, Emotion, Romance, and Optimism that the whole family can enjoy.”

As for Bird, he added that he believes that “The Hearties will go wherever the good food is.” What is good to know is that fans of the creator’s work don’t have too long to wait for the first UPtv movie under this new contract.

Just Jake on UPtv

The new movie is titled Just Jake and stars Brittany Bristow and Rob Mayes, while Brandon Clark will direct from a script penned by Taylor Bird and Jaimie Engle. Readers can watch a preview from the movie in the tweet below.

According to the official IMDb page, the movie tells the story of an emerging country star, who returns to his hometown to try and overcome his serious writer’s block. In the process, he reunites with his high school sweetheart and together, they rediscover love. Moreover, they learn that the best music is the music you make together.

Meanwhile, Brian Bird and True Brand are in the right place, as UPtv provides uplifting and entertaining content. In fact, the content includes both classic and new rom-coms, with a side of shows like Gilmore Girls and Heartland.
