She’s been the Queen of CBS for some time now, but it looks like Gayle King might be looking to make the switch. Apparently, executives at CNN are hoping that they can lure Gayle over to help the network’s poor ratings and sinking ship. In fact, some insiders believe that Gayle could help boost CNN’s ratings with her own primetime show. Here’s what you need to know.

According to the National Enquirer, there’s a chance that Gayle might be seriously considering a move to CNN as there’s a strong possibility that she could cash in on a solid contract and a hefty weekly paycheck. Not only that, but some believe that she might actually get a chance to co-anchor with none other than NBA legend Charles Barkley, too. Plus, CNN boss Chris Licht is also a very close friend to Gayle.

One source close to the situation even put it this way, “It’s an attractive offer for Gayle because her own show continues to trail Good Morning America and Today in the morning talk show ratings despite her personal popularity. At CNN she would instantly get the benefit of a massive marketing campaign and the full focus of a primetime spotlight. She’s also a big fan of Charles and the feeling is mutual.”

Plus, Chris Licht is currently under pressure to make some magic happen for the network as they have been doing poorly in the ratings compared to their competition. With Gayle and Charles together in the spotlight, that might all change. Plus, if Gayle moves over, there’s a good chance she’ll bring her BFF Oprah Winfrey, too.
