Soap Opera Ratings for Week of August 13 – 17: General Hospital Gains – NBC And CBS Soaps Continue Losing Viewers!

The soap opera ratings have been reported by Soap Opera Network.
There were no holidays or breaking news that interrupted any of the four daytime soap operas that would have affected their ratings. Let’s see how all four soap operas made out this week!
GENERAL HOSPITAL
ABC’s GH has a total of 2,421,000 adding 27,000 total viewers from the previous week. GH is also the only soap opera to gain viewers among women ages 18-49, adding 28,000 more from the week before totaling 380,000. Griffin (Matt Cohen) admitting to sleeping with his lover, Ava’s (Maura West) daughter, Kiki (Hayley Erin) was an epic moment; but couldn’t have come out at a worst time. Its discovered that the Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) is Finn’s (Michael Easton) mysterious patient as both Carly (Laura Wright) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) cope with their teenagers latest stunts of shoplifting. Drew (Billy Miller) and Jason (Steve Burton) are suspicious of Margaux (Elizabeth Hendrickson) while Madeline (Donna Mills) and Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) make their returns! Michael tries to cope with the loss of his son, while Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) informs her clients of their own terrible news. Will these blended families survive all this tragedy?
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
CBS’ B&B remains in second place for total viewership with 3,353,000, losing 18,000 total viewers this week and 13,000 in viewers among women aged 18-49, remaining strong at 340,000. Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) share their engagement news with everyone, which isn’t met with equal sentiments. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) introduces her plans for Forrester Creations. Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Katie (Heather Tom) become a hot new couple and it finally seems Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) has met his match when it comes to someone protecting and caring for Katie! Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is furious Taylor (Hunter Tylo) is back for her daughter and Liam’s wedding and a confrontation is bound to happen!
DAY OF OUR LIVES
NBC’s DOOL is at the bottom of the total viewership list totaling 2,055,000 losing 34,000. ‘Days of Our Lives’ dropped 14,000 viewers among women 18-49 years old. This week, Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) are determined to pay off their blackmailer, eventually revealing the truth about Ted (Gilles Marini) to Kate (Lauren Koslow). Kate pulls a gun on Ted! Showdowns happen between Eve (Kassie DePaiva) and Jenn Horton (Melissa Reeves), as well as Abigail (Marci Miller) and Gabi (Camila Banus). Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) is forced into an impossible situation with Stefan (Tyler Christopher), and her suspicious behavior causes Steve (Stephen Nichols) to do the unthinkable!
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
CBS’ Y&R stays at the top of total viewership with 4,094,000, but lost 53,000 viewers from the week before; the CBS daytime drama also dropped 40,000 women viewers ages 18-49 from the previous week. Cane (Daniel Goddard) disappoints Lily (Christel Khalil) by planning to take the entire fammily on the run to Australia, in order to avoid prosecution. Summer (Hunter King) earns that it was her dad, Nick (Joshua Morrow) that slept with her mother, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), just after Sharon is happily planning her wedding. Phyllis takes the brunt of Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) anger for her siding with Billy (Jason Thompson), over his own wife, and her boss, Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman). A mysterious man, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) starers at an evidence board with JT (Thad Luckinbill) at the center of it!
