Scarlett Johansson Makes Very Rare Comment About Ex Husband Ryan Reynolds

I know, I know, you also can’t remember a time when Scarlett Johansson was married to Ryan Reynolds. I mean, when did it happen? It seems like a lifetime ago, and for Johansson, it’s only something that briefly happened. It’s been so many years since they both moved on from each other, so here’s an update on what the “Avengers“ actress thinks of her ex these days.

Scarlett Johansson – Calls Ryan Reynolds A “Good Guy”

In 2008, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot, divorcing almost three years later in 2011. Since then, the two have gone on to find love anew – in Johansson’s case, she found love twice – and become more successful in their acting careers. So you can imagine that there’s nothing for the exes to hate each other about.

In a recent podcast appearance, Johansson made what could be the first public reference to ex Ryan Reynolds during her chat with Gwyneth Paltrow.

“You’ve been married two times?” the “Goop” host asked, before Johansson quickly corrected her by clarifying that she’s actually been married three times. However, don’t blame Paltrow, It’s quite easy for anyone to forget. After all, her marriage to Reynolds was short-lived and didn’t produce any children.

“Oh that’s right, because I forgot that you were married to Ryan Reynolds! Goals!” Paltrow exclaimed. Johansson noted, “We weren’t married very long, but we were when I first met you, for Iron Man [2] or whatever.”

Paltrow then admitted that “We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house,” prompting Johansson to throw in her hat for her ex by acknowledging that he’s a “good guy.”

One of the things about Scarlett Johansson is that you won’t find her talking about her exes for attention or whatnot.

Since her separation from Reynolds, the “Red Notice” star has gone on to marry fellow star Blake Lively, with whom he shares four children with.

Johansson, on the other hand, was married to Romain Dauriac between 2014 and 2017, and shares daughter Rose, 8, with him. Currently, she’s married to SNL star Colin Jost, with whom she shares son Cosmo, born in 2021.

Even though we don’t know what made Reynolds and Johansson incompatible with each other, she once opened up about what made Jost her perfect life partner.

“I never realized, ‘Oh, it’s really important for me, I need to be with a compassionate person. That’s a fundamental characteristic that has to be there,'” she explained.

“Understanding what those fundamental things are that you need in a partner is a must, I think—for longevity, anyway. I think identifying those things was a game-changer for me.”
