She is not about to let her mother go to jail, but clearly has no trouble at all watching her mother-in-law go to prison for a crime nobody committed.

Secrets like this never stay hidden forever, so Summer is deciding her deceitful mother is more important than her husband, and stepson who thinks of her as a mom.

“Summer hates lying and she’s not very good at it,” Lanier said.” But her need to show loyalty to her mom will definitely weigh heavily on her.”

That might not be entirely true as when Summer returned to GC in 20118, she lied all the time and was definitely a manipulator, trying to seduce Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) away from Phyllis when they were together.
