Yellowstone: Kelly Reilly Explains Her Absence From PaleyFest

Yellowstone spoilers, news, and updates tease that Kelly Reilly explained her absence from PaleyFest LA 2023 in April. The actress who plays the role of Beth Dutton said that she had other commitments during that time.

One fan took the opportunity to ask the actress about her absence when the latter posted a photo with co-star Brian Cox on Instagram. Reilly said that she was filming in the UK at the time of the event. She explained that she told the people involved that she can’t attend as early as January. She apologized to her fans after learning that her name was still on the list of the attendees.

Despite taking place on April Fool’s Day, the PaleyFest was no joke for fans eagerly anticipating the chance to meet the beloved cast of Yellowstone in person. Among those who were confirmed to attend the event were Kevin Costner, Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Betley, Gil Birmingham, and Jacki Weaver, as well as executive producers Taylor Sheridan and David Glasser.

However, there were some unexpected changes right before the event started. Fans were informed about the new lineup, which included Keith Cox, President of Scripted at MTV Entertainment Studios, and actors Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), Dawn Olivieri (Sarah Atwood), Josh Lucas (younger John Dutton) and Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry).

The absence of the stars who were first confirmed to attend the event fuelled rumors involving the rising tension within the production and the possibility that Paramount is considering a spinoff of the show in a new direction that doesn’t include Costner.

During the panel that took place on April 1, Cox gave fans some positive news. He hinted that Costner isn’t going anywhere. He made it clear that Costner is “our star, the face of our show, and the executive producer,” and that “we are very confident he will continue with the show.”

“Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come,” as per the statement of a network spokesperson.

“Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner,” the source continued.
