Even though Maggie caused the crash, there is a reason why Will believes he is guilty of Adrienne’s death. While behind the wheel, he gets distracted by his phone. He glances down at it for just a second. When he looks back up, his eyes are wide with fear and he swerves, but it doesn’t do any good. He ends up colliding into the other two vehicles on the road.

DOOL Spoilers – Guilt of an Innocent Man

When Will finds out that Adrienne is dead, he is filled with remorse. He confesses to JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss). He will also admit he is guilty of distracted driving to Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith).

Despite knowing Will isn’t at fault, Xander keeps quiet and lets Will confess. He also doesn’t say anything when he is sentenced to prison, taking him away from his husband and daughter.
