Hallmark Channel News: Will There Be A Chesapeake Shores Season 5?

The fourth season of Chesapeake Shores ended early last year on the Hallmark Channel and fans are wondering if it will be back for a fifth season.

Season 4 of the popular Hallmark Channel series Chesapeake Shores ended early in 2019, with only six episodes airing. Fans have since been clamoring to find out if it will be renewed for a fifth season, but so far, there’s no positive or negative news in the offing.

According to the ratings, season 4 of Chesapeake Shores remained a pretty good performer on the Hallmark Channel. It is currently unknown why there were so few episodes in the season. Some speculated Hallmark might be ending the show, or it might just be too expensive to produce. However, as at today’s date, the series has neither been cancelled nor renewed.

Back in September last year, various tweets made it seem like a season 5 might definitely be in the offing. Dan Paulson Prods tweeted Chessies with a personal message from the Executive Producer of Chesapeake Shores, Dan Paulson. He sent the tweet shortly before the finale of season 4, thanking fans for their heartfelt support. Paulson added he was “looking forward to coming back on Hallmark with more of the same for Season 5.” That tweet does sound positive for an upcoming season!

In a Facebook Live chat during September, executive VP of programming, Michelle Vicary stated it was definitely possible that a season 5 will happen. She said at that time, Chesapeake Shores was number two in the cable ratings, which is a great sign the show is still going places. She concluded by saying she had a good feeling about it.

When would season 5 air?

If there is a fifth season, it is likely to air in August, around the same time as season 4. While season 4 started a little late due to scheduling complications, with luck, Chessies can expect the show to come back at the beginning of August 2020.

Chesapeake Shores fans must keep up hope that news will be released by the Hallmark Channel about a fifth season.
