Treat Williams’ Cause Of Death Released, Car Driver Charged In Fatal Accident

Everwood and Chesapeake Shores actor Treat Williams died on June 12 at the age of 71. The beloved actor was riding his motorcycle when Ryan Koss crashed into him, leading to his death. Koss has now been charged with “grossly negligent operation” for his part in the accident.
Treat Williams’ cause of death revealed
Almost two months ago, Chesapeake Shores star Treat Williams was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. Now, the Bennington County State’s Attorney has completed its review of the accident. According to a press release from the Vermont State Police, this has led to Ryan Koss, the driver who crashed into Williams, being charged with “grossly negligent operation with death.”
According to the report, Koss was driving a vehicle that “turned into the path of Mr. Williams motorcycle.” Due to this the Everwood actor suffered “critical injuries in the crash and subsequently pronounced dead” at a nearby hospital. The medical examiner determined the cause of Williams’ death to be “severe trauma and blood loss as a result of the crash.”
Meanwhile, Koss volunteered to meet with authorities and has been processed on the charge and released. However, he is set to appear for arraignment on September 25, 2023.
Williams was ‘at the top of his game’
As noted by Deadline, after Williams died at the age of 71 on June 12, his family issued a heartbreaking statement.
Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and was truly at the top of his game in all of it. It is all so shocking right now, but please know that Treat was dearly and deeply loved and respected by his family and everyone who knew him.

The actor’s full name was Richard Treat Williams and he is known for his work in movies, television and theater. He first came to prominence in the 1979 movies Hair and 1941. Later, he was known for his portrayal of Dr. Andy Brown on The WB’s TV series Everwood.
Williams is also much-loved by fans for his role as Mick O’Brien in the Hallmark heartwarming family drama series, Chesapeake Shores. He also starred in the Hallmark holiday movies, The Christmas House and The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls.
