Prince William is getting a lot of heat for not attending the Women’s World Cup Final to support The Lady Lionesses against Spain over the weekend. As many readers are probably aware by now, England fell short to Spain as they lost 1-0 in the final game. And while it would have been nice to have had Prince William there to help console Team England, that didn’t happen.
Apparently, it was royal protocol that stopped him from traveling to Australia for the game. But some people say that might not have been the case at all. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry Traveled To Tokyo To Support Team England During The Rugby World Cup Final
Prince William is hoping that this Women’s World Cup controversy will go away on its own, but it might be a while before that happens. The internet doesn’t forget anything, and especially during this day and age.
Many people brought up the fact that Prince Harry traveled to Tokyo, Japan to cheer on Team England during the Rugby World Cup Final back in 2019.
Royal protocol certainly didn’t stop him from having a good time with the team and Rugby fans during the tournament that year.
Royal Family News: What Stopped Prince William From Doing His Job?
Yet, some sources say that Prince William could not travel to Australia because he has to wait until his father, King Charles, does so first. The King of England is yet to make a trip Down Under as he has to wait until the Australian government invites him to do so.
Only then can Prince William travel to Australia after his father has done so. At least, that’s what some royal experts are claiming is the proper royal protocol when it comes to traveling to Commonwealth countries.
Others say that it’s a bunch of baloney as there’s nothing stopping Prince William from doing his job as the president of the British Football Association and traveling to Australia to do his job. As patron of the Rugby Association, Prince Harry certainly did his.
