Coronation Street Spoilers: Sally Carman Has Doubts About Abi and Kevin’s Relationship, Doesn’t Think It Will Work

“Coronation Street” spoilers hint that Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) are going to get closer next week. However, not everyone is happy about it. Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), for instance, will make her thoughts known to Abi. But, it’s not only her who has something to say.

The actress behind the character Abi, Sally Carman, doesn’t think the pair are right for each other. During an interview, the actress doesn’t think the couple’s relationship could work out.

“That’s why it’s a brilliant storyline because they are so different, so there are excellent opportunities to create drama from that. But I’m not sure they can have a happily ever after,” she explained.

“Abi is chalk to his cheese. She’s younger, she’s unsettled – her motives for wanting to be with him are genuine and true but I don’t think they’re planted in true love,” she continued.

“She’s picking someone who’s good to her, she’s trying to better herself, and she’s really trying to create a settled life. Kevin ticks that box, but she’s also passionate and a bit wild, and I don’t think that will disappear just because she starts to get her life together,” she added.

Carman continued to say that unlikely Kevin, Abi is fiery and got spark. Meanwhile, Kevin is “much more middle of the road” and may not be able to handle Abi’s fire.

Sally Warns Abi About Getting Too Close To Kevin

Next week on “Coronation Street,” Sally Metcalfe warns Abi against leading Kevin on. Later on, she intervenes once again and tells Abi that it’s not a good idea to start a serious relationship with Kevin.

Abi will feel hurt and unhappy with Sally and believes that she’s judging her. The latter will try to explain her side and say that she’s just worried about Jack and because it seems like trouble always follows Abi around.

Carman Believes Abi Really Likes Kevin

Carman said that her alter ego really likes Kevin.

“He’s solid, dependable, he never lets her down, and she’s sick of men who get you up the duff and do one, in her words,” she said. “She adores children… She adores Jack, so [the fact that Kevin has a son is] not an issue for her at all.”

She also explained why Abi doesn’t appreciate Sally’s warning. At first, it seems like Sally had genuine concerns. But she realizes eventually that it’s like Sally thinks she’s not good enough for Kevin.

“There are points when Abi feels really judged and let down by Sally. Maybe she hasn’t got her back in the way she thought she had,” she added.
