Somewhere in California right now, an unhappy Duchess of Sussex sits trying to figure out what went wrong. And insiders via the Post claim that Meghan Markle feels irate about Kate Middleton’s A-list connections in the United States.

For years, Meghan longed to mingle with Hollywood’s top celebrities. But Prince William and Kate enjoy a much more impressive circle of superstar connections. And when it comes to Kate’s and Meghan’s feud, the stars choose Kate.

However, Prince William also has received support from his own celebrity connections in the United States. And that left the Duke and Dutches of Sussex feeling envious of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ friendships with superstars. “You’d be surprised how many big stars reached out to William and Kate to let them know they have their support amid this feud with Harry and Meghan,” said a source. 

Prince William Feels Smug

And the insider pointed out the irony. Although Meghan and Harry moved to California, Kate and William have established more A-list supporters.

And the source shared that the Duchess and Duke of Sussex “may have moved to California. But it’s William and Kate who had the most support out there. And there is a certain level of smugness about that.”

However, Kate and William didn’t build up their star-studded connections list just to flaunt it in Meghan’s face, clarified the insider. “They insist that they’d be doing this regardless of where the Sussexes live,” said the source. “But there is no doubt they’ll enjoy showing Meghan and Harry how Hollywood is still very much obsessed with all things royal.”

Kate William Connects With Tom Cruise

And Meghan and Harry will watch from the sidelines as Kate and William kick off their Earthshot initiative. The royal couple plans to “tap all their celebrity friends for help.” And that list of celebrity connections includes Tom Cruise, Taylor Swift, and Tom Hanks.

“Everyone wants to be around them,” shared an insider. And PR expert Andy Barr called Meghan and Harry “jealous” of Kate and William. “Harry and Meghan have a powerful and well established network of celebrity friends and ‘fixers’,” noted Barr. 

But the expert sees “no substitute for being an actual, fully paid up member of the royal family. The global interest and intrigue in the British Royal Family means that they are guaranteed crowds wherever they go and whatever they do.”

And the PR expert feels William and Kate could “instantly be injected into the kinds of high society connections and opportunities.” As a result, Barr feels Meghan and Harry will become “jealous. You only have to watch their every interaction to see that Kate and William are clearly super competitive,” added the expert. “And if you combine that and the royal publicity machine in full swing, you can’t see much getting in there.”
