Casey Moss is leaving “Days of Our Lives” after seven years of playing the role of JJ Deveraux. His last scenes were aired on February 18, when his character decided to go to Africa after Bill Horton’s death. His character hasn’t been killed off and that means there’s still a chance that he might return although there’s no word about yet if his exit is only temporary.

Moss’s character has been through a lot in the past few years. He had to deal with drug addiction and the deaths of Paige Larsen (True O’Brien) and Haley Chen (Thia Megia), which were both his girlfriends. JJ’s exit storyline involved going to Africa with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), and Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) to attend the funeral of Bill Horton (Edward Mallory).

Unfortunately, that’ll be the last time viewers would see JJ as he won’t be with his family when they return to Salem. He’ll remain in Africa as he starts a new life away from all the drama from his old hometown.

Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Other Characters Leave The Show

It’s not just Moss who’s leaving the show. Fans were shocked when news broke that Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) have been let go. Both actors have confirmed that their contracts were not renewed.

It’s been made known that both actors have already filmed their final scenes earlier this month. Since the show tapes their episodes several months in advance, viewers will still get to see them play their characters until September.

Fans Furious About The Cast Changes

Many fans were disappointed and furious about the cast changes that are being made on the show.

One fan said, “Will and Sonny are off the show? How the hell does that make sense?”

“I feel bad for the WilSon fans. I know what it feels like to say goodbye to your favorite couple,” another fan tweeted.

Another social media user chimed in and said “Stupid move to eliminate Will and Sonny.”

Moss, Massey, and Smith aren’t the only ones who are leaving. Galen Gering also confirmed that he’s exiting the soap opera as Rafe Hernandez. He admitted that he’s unsure of his future on “Days of Our Lives” but for now, he said his exit is only temporary.
