Zac Efron Fans Concerned About ‘Iron Claw’ Actor’s Changed Appearance

Zac Efron has sparked concern among his fans. And the worry stems from the fact that the actor looks dramatically different in a new interview for his movie The Iron Claw.

Zac Efron – Sparks Fans To Feel Concern

Fans of Zac Efron have worried that the actor appears unrecognizable in an interview for his new movie The Iron Claw.

And the concern from fans grew after the 36-year-old actor made the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s magazine.

Some fans thought that Zac underwent plastic surgery because he looked so different in the new photos, noted Pop Culture.

And a video of Efron’s interview went viral as fans speculated about why they didn’t recognize Zac. For instance, one fan questioned, “What happened to his face?” And others speculated about possible cosmetic surgery procedures.

But while one fan thought Efron now looks like Thanos from Marvel Comics, others revealed that the actor underwent surgery for his jaw. And rather than plastic surgery, the procedure resulted from an accident.

For example, one fan explained, “Before everyone comments about [his unrecognizable appearance], Zac said that his jaw shattered in an accident.” As a result, the actor “had to get it restructured which is supposedly why it looks different now,” added the fan.

Zac Efron – Stars In The Iron Claw

The Iron Claw features Efron portraying Kevin Von Erich. The professional wrestler soared to fame in the 1970s and 1980s. And Zac shared the work that he did to transform his body in preparation for playing the professional wrestler.

“This movie’s a true story,” shared Efron. “And that man, Kevin Von Erich right there, he really motivated me to get in shape for this movie. The physicality he brought to the ring every single day was really unique. It changed wrestling. I knew that was going to be the hardest [thing] for me to master and get right. So, I put everything I had into it.”

But Efron also needed to change every aspect of his appearance from his hair to his style. And he recalled the first time that he donned his wrestling clothes. “It was shocking at every point of the transformation,” confessed Zac.

The Iron Claw Cast Revealed

And Efron recalled “Harris [Dickinson] and I were walking out of hair and make-up and it was like the first time we had to wear the full kit. And we were both thinking, ‘What the hell are we doing here, man? How did we get into this? But I think it ended up looking really good and we had a great crew helping us out with that. The hair and make-up team was epic.”

In addition to the pro wrestler, The Iron Claw features the Von Erich family. The clan became known as one of the most famous families in professional wrestling. Efron plays the featured role. And his co-stars include Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simons, Maura Tierney, Holt McCallany and Lily James.
