John Black (Drake Hogestyn) tells Marlena that Stefano cannot break them. John and Marlena go out for a little while. Marlena returns to find a surprise John has set up for them for Valentine’s Day. Marlena says they have so much to celebrate, John agrees. John loves Marlena more and more every day, Marlena feels the same.

Days of Our Lives’ Stefano wants Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) to shut up about Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth). Kayla tells Steve she knows he is lying about the new woman in his life. Kayla demands to know if the woman is real or not. Steve has to hide out until he can take down Stefano. Kayla is upset that she has to stay away from her job. Stefano talks about sending the woman of his dreams a gift for Valentine’s Day. Kayla mentions that it is their wedding anniversary.

Kayla demands to know who Steve’s new love interest is. Steve tells Kayla it’s Marlena he is in love with. Kayla says John is his best friend. Steve says Marlena is his queen. Kayla says Steve sounds like Stefano. Steve says he is Stefano and takes off his patch. Stefano explains that Dr. Rolf (William Utay) took over Steve’s body for him. Stefano says soon Kayla will realize the truth. Kayla asks when this happened. Stefano says Steve was on the way home to Kayla when he was intercepted. Kayla talks to Steve and asks him to fight against Stefano to come home to her. Stefano laughs in her face. Stefano says Steve is dead and gone. Stefano toast to himself. Stefano offers Kayla a glass of wine. Kayla starts to leave, Stefano plans to keep her for a bargaining chip.

Days of Our Lives’ Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) pulls away from Lani Price (Sal Stowers). Eli can’t kiss Lani as upset as he is over her keeping him in the dark. Lani thinks Eli hates her. Eli says he used the wrong word, he doesn’t hate her, he’s still hurt over her actions. Eli talks about the nights he laid awake trying to make sense of it all. Lani never wanted to hurt Eli. Lani says it was all an act.

Lani wishes she had told Eli everything and just married him that day. Lani says Gabi took him away from her. Lani knows this is confusing and painful. Lani wants to fix this. Lani begs Eli not to let Gabi keep them apart. Eli can’t be with Lani right now. Lani realizes Eli is struggling but she wants him to remember the good times. Eli needs time to figure things out. Eli wants to be alone. Lani understands and doesn’t want to put pressure on Eli. Eli has to go, Lani tells him she loves him again before he walks away.

Gabi says she got the idea from Kate. Kate tells Gabi how she got tangled up with Stefano again. Gabi tells Kate she has now lost everything. Kate still hasn’t heard from her lawyer. Kate hopes that Gabi doesn’t snore since they will be spending the night in a cell together.

Days of Our Lives Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) is upset over Kate covering for Stefano. Roman doesn’t understand how Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) is ok with this. Hattie tells Roman that Kate felt bad over her actions. Roman tells Hattie that Kate only thinks of herself. Roman asks how Marlena talked her into trading places with her. Hattie says she volunteered to switch places with Marlena.

Hattie talks about how sexy and romantic Stefano spoke to her. Hattie got caught up in the moment. Roman thinks Hattie slept with Stefano. Hattie says Roman stopped her from taking it too far. Roman asks how the hell he stopped her from sleeping with Steve. Hattie says women are always throwing themselves at Roman. Hattie wants a special kind of man that she had deep feelings for. Hattie has only felt that way about one man for a long time and she’s not discussing that anymore.

Roman laughs and says Hattie is a romantic. Hattie isn’t going to keep chasing Roman when he has no interest in her. Roman says that is not necessarily true. Hattie tells Roman she doesn’t want him to feel sorry for her. Roman likes that Hattie has personality. Hattie tells Roman he has a funny way of showing that. Roman tells Hattie she was incredible and unbelievably brave. Roman tells Hattie she’s very special and kisses her on the cheek.
