Madonna is being the real Queen we’ve always known she is right now. During a concert in New York on Saturday night, she opened up about a recent health scare that left her in induced coma for two days.
She has a special friend to thank for saving her life. And guess what? She was at her concert that Saturday night.
Madonna Opens Up About Her Recent Hospitalization
The singer is alive and well and continuing on with her Celebration World Tour, thanks to one Shavawm.
On Dec. 16, the “La Isla Bonita” songstress opened up about her June illness, admitting that it was so bad she was admitted to intensive care at the ICU. She said the life-changing situation saw her in “an induced coma for 48 hours” in June.
“There are some very important people in the room tonight that were with me at the hospital. There’s one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital,” she said of Shavawn in the clip. “I don’t even remember; I passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU … She saved my life.”
She then thanked her Kabbalah for being by her side during the trying times. “The only voice I heard was his. I heard him say, ‘Squeeze my hand,’ ” Madonna told the crowd, as seen in a fan captured video shared on X.
Another person that the Grammy winner expressed her gratitude towards was her friend, Shavawn, who happened to be in the crowd as she shared the heartwarming message.
“There are some very important people in the room tonight that were with me at the hospital. There’s one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital,” she said of Shavawn in the clip. “I don’t even remember; I passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU … She saved my life.”
She also shared the moments after she woke up, and the love she felt to find that all her children had rushed over to see her.
“There were a couple of things I thought about when I first became conscious and I saw my six incredible children sitting around me — by the way, I had to almost die to get all my kids in one room,” she said of Lourdes, 27, Rocco, 23, David Banda, 18, Mercy James, 17, and 11-year-old twins Estere and Stella.
Fans first heard the news of Madonna’s hospitalization in June 28 when her long-time manager, Guy Oseary, shared that the singer was recovering in ICU after developing a “serious” bacterial infection.
He did assure fans at the time that whilst she was still in medical care, she would recover fine.
