Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Christmas traditions remain especially meaningful for Julie Olson Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug Williams (Bill Hayes). And Susan reflected on what the holidays mean both to her and her real-life husband Bill.
Find out what Susan shared about the holiday season. And keep reading to learn what she teased about Days Of Our Lives upcoming episodes.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – An Emotional Christmas
Each year, Christmas means something special on Days of our Lives. And Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Olson Williams) told TV Insider that she feels emotional about the holidays this year. Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal Julie spending meaningful time alone with Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).
“This year is an extremely sentimental year for Billy and myself,” shared Susan about her husband (who also plays her fictional spouse). “As Doug and Julie, we have a few minutes alone – just us talking with the tree there. We recall the people who preceded us.”
And the Days Of Our Lives star noted, “This is one time where we allowed ourselves to really, really experience the past, which is mingled with the people we’ve lost in real life. Moments that are so real. I think the audience will be as engaged as we are in the actual meaning of Christmas.”
DOOL Spoilers – All About Family
And Susan reflected that Days Of Our Lives has always focused on family. As a result, she hopes that viewers feel the same emotional ties to past characters that the cast does. “We’re always talking about family on our show and the emotional links that we hope the audience still has to the characters we only speak of,” she noted. “Because they are, in fact, gone.”
And Susan shared that the entire Days Of Our Lives cast “always love doing the Christmas show.” However, she also teased what the future holds for Julie. And that includes Julie providing advice as well as encouragement.
Julie will “give advice to Chad [Billy Flynn],” revealed Susan. “And she’ll encourage him to pull himself together and to live a happy and productive life. He still misses Abigail [Marci Miller] a great deal. We are carrying on with that storyline. That has not gone away. The mourning period for all of us continues – as it would in real life,” she added.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Doug And Julie Williams Stay Faithful
But Susan also shared that she believes Doug and Julie represent something special to Days Of Our Lives viewers. And that involves proving “that love and faithfulness are precious and that the example of people who are partners in every aspect of life is genuinely uplifting.”
Susan views staying faithful and in love as “a goal to aim for. We’re in the decline of our mortal days,” she added. “And the fact is that the support and tenderness [we feel] has not gone away. I’m happy that we are here for each other and that the show is here for us. The show is very respectful of us. There’s a lot of kindness for us here.”
And although the characters reside in their “imaginary home in Salem, it’s actually not imaginary to us or to the people who have been here for so long,” pointed out Susan. “It’s not imaginary either to Ken Corday [executive producer], who has showered us with so much kindness. We both love working at this job.”
