Forest Whitaker’s Ex-Wife Keisha Nash Heartbreaking Cause Of Death Revealed

Keisha Nash passed away on December 6, 2023.  The former wife of Forest Whitaker shared two adult daughters with the actor, True  and Sonnet.  25 year old True confirmed the death of Keisha on December 7th on social media. 

Forest Whitaker still hasn’t commented on Keisha Nash’s death, but the official death certificate has been released and includes a cause of death.

TMZ got their hands on Keisha Nash’s death certificate, and according to the coroner’s report, the 51 year old died from complications due to alcoholic liver disease.

The news outlet goes on to say, “The certificate of death notes that Nash had lived with the disease for “years” and lists acute renal failure as another significant condition that may have contributed to her death.

It also lists Nash’s daughter with Whitaker, True, as the informant of her mother’s death.  The former model was buried in a service in Los Angeles on Dec. 20, as the document reads.”

Forest Whitaker met Keisha Nash in in 90’s on the set of the movie “Blown Away.”  Nash actually played the part of Forest’s character’s love interest and the two stars hit it off. 

They were married in 1998, and Keisha became a full-time daughter and raised their two daughters, True and Sonnet.  (Nash also had a child from a previous relationship.)

It’s not really clear when Keisha Nash’s battle with the bottle began, but even the death certificate clearly states that it was not recently and the actress has been dealing with these demons for years. 

There’s a good chance that is what caused Forest Whitaker to file for divorce in December of 2018, where he cited “irreconcilable differences.”

The last few times Keisha appeared on Forest’s arm at red carpet events, the actress looked like she had lost a lot of weight and  sparked concern in the media for how frail she appeared.  Now, those sightings are starting to make more sense.
