British royal family news asks why the sudden surge of Kate Hate from the press? Getty Images is the latest outlet to attack Kate Middleton’s media skills.
You know that heart wrenching video she released last month in which she acknowledged her cancer battle?
Getty Images, a news photo agency, just called attention to the fact that the video “may not adhere” to its lofty standards.
Really? Everyone knows that the video was made by the palace at the last minute, after the press hounded Kate with conspiracy theories and celebs teased that she could be dead.
Yet Getty Images felt the need to put this disclaimer alongside the video’s caption info: “EDITOR’S NOTE: This Handout clip was provided by a third-party organization and may not adhere to Getty Images’ editorial policy.”
Royal Family News – Why Is the Media Hounding Kate Middleton?
Vanity Fair asked Getty Images to explain themselves and all they could come up with is this: “Getty Images includes a standard editors note to handout content provided by third party organizations.”
Except that they don’t. Vanity Fair pointed out “a 2023 handout from Buckingham Palace from the coronation of King Charles III, a posed family portrait taken by royal photographer Hugo Bernand, does not bear the note, nor does the 2023 holiday portrait of the Wales family, a handout from Kensington Palace taken by Josh Shinner.”
Royal Family News – Vanity Fair Asks Tough Question
Getty’s scapegoating comes after Kensington Palace released a photo of Kate and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, for the U.K.’s Mother’s Day. The caption stated it was taken in 2024 by Prince William. Then the feeding frenzy began.
Several news agencies, including AP and Getty, broadcast “that the image appeared to have been digitally manipulated. Shortly after, Kate issued an apology on social media explaining that ‘like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.’”
Kate having to explain herself to media conglomerates at such a sensitive time should have never had to happen. But here we go again.
Royal Family News – Kate Dragged Over Cancer Video
Getty refused to say “when or why they had appended the note, nor why other handout materials from the royal family did not bear it.”
Instead they dug in their unaccountable heels with a spokesperson ending the conversation this way: “We are not commenting further than the statement. As the statement says, it is standard note that is now added to handouts provided by third party organisations.” Except when it isn’t.
Why is the media targeting Princess Kate at a time when respect and civility are called for? Tell us what you think of this, royal fans, is Kate being singled out by anonymous executives who have better things to do with their time? And if so, why now?
