General Hospital Performer Of The Week – Laura Wright As Carly Spencer

General Hospital spoilers tease that Carly Spencer had no idea what she was walking into when she decided to pay Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) a visit to discuss their daughter Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears).

At first Sonny wasn’t home Carly had to get through his self-appointed gatekeeper, Ava Jerome (Maura West).

When Carly decided to stay and wait for her ex-husband to arrive, Ava began to hurl insults Carly’s way. Carly gave as good as she got until Sonny finally arrived home!

As Carly, Wright was able to effortless move Carly’s demeanor from calm and collected to annoyed to angry within just a few moments.

She didn’t let Carly to emotional or lose control as she deftly put Ava in her place. Wright’s Carly has had her fair share of confrontations over the years.

It would be easy to go one auto-pilot for scenes like this and Wright stayed present as moved from annoyed to angry within just a couple moments. But the best was yet to come.

GH Spoilers – Carly Spencer Realized A Devastating Truth!

Once Sonny arrived home, Carly insisted that Ava leave them so she could discuss Donna privately.

Ava excused herself and that Carly lowered the boom on Sonny. Calmly, she let Sonny know that Donna wouldn’t be spending time with Sonny inside his home for the foreseeable future because of his behavior.

That’s when paranoia set in and it only took Carly to come to terrifying revelation. Without missing a beat, she rushed to Sonny bathroom to make sure Sonny’s medication was being taken.

Carly took the pill bottle back to the living room where she desperately tried to talk to Sonny about his meds. Sonny became so angry he threw an emotional Carly out.

General Hospital Spoilers – Laura Wright Showed Carly Spencer’s Anguish Beautifully!

Wright once again shifted from anger to realization once Carly realized that Sonny was acting as if he weren’t taking his meds. She showed mixture of relief to have an explanation to horror as realized that Sonny was truly a real threat in that condition.

She pleaded and begged Sonny to be honest with her. When that didn’t work, Wright had Carly calmly walk out as thought the weight of the world were on her shoulders.

It would be easy to go over the top with scenes like that, but somehow Wright managed to dial things back just enough to let Carly’s true emotions come through.
