GH viewers may recall that recently Alexis Davis saw Dr. Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) in the halls of General Hospital. There, the two had a flirtatious discussion. Their chemistry was telling. It was obvious that though the two apparently think they shouldn’t bump into one another because of their recent one-night-stand, their feelings say otherwise. However, right in the middle of their talk, Alexis received a phone call from Sam, which asked for help.

Upon arriving at a bar where Sam’s parole officer was holding Sam and her goofy but loyal friend, Spinelli, Alexis began working to get both Sam and Spinelli off the hook. Although it took some doing, Alexis managed to convince Dolores Maloney (Andi Chapman) to release the erstwhile private detectives and to drop any charges she might have brought against them.

However, instead of being grateful for her mother’s help, Sam viewed Alexis’s actions as a capitulation to a bad cop. Sam torched Alexis and spit a lot of venomous accusations. Later, Sam regretted her words and attempted to apologize but by then, all Alexis wanted was to be left alone. Apparently, some of the things Sam accused Alexis of hit home. GH fans might agree that in reality, both Alexis and Sam have had a few valid points in their argument with one another. Sam’s however, were well-founded enough that Alexis needed emotional help in dealing with them. Lacking a friend to lean on, Alexis took a shot of vodka to ease the pain.

GH Spoilers – Alexis Davis Used to Drink a Lot

As some GH viewers know who have watched General Hospital for some time, Alexis has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings ever since she almost killed a man while drunk. Originally, she began drinking when she lost her law license and her ex-husband, Julian Jerome (William deVry) got off murder charges. In fact, Alexis’s drinking became so bad that she turned nearly everyone against her.

GH fans might find themselves worried over Alexis’s recent descent back into drinking. Many viewers have rooted for Alexis to finally get a grip on her life and find real happiness.

General Hospital Spoilers – Alexis Davis Finds Support in Dr. Neil Byrne

While Neil doesn’t know anything about Alexis’s sudden return to booze, GH viewers know that if anyone can make Alexis happy, it could be him. Many fans believe that it’s clear Neil cares about her in more than a professional capacity. Now, some think that because Neil almost lost his license to practice psychiatry due to his illicit affair with a former patient (Alexis), he ought to distance himself from her post-haste. In fact, Neil might be hovering on the edge of a decision to do just that despite his feelings for Alexis.

GH viewers might agree that while it may not be “ethical,” having Neil come to Alexis’s rescue might be the right thing to do for them both. Some feel that these star-crossed GH characters were made for each other. Aren’t even messed up people occasionally entitled to some happiness? Why should fate keep them apart?

With that said, viewers might expect both Alexis and Neil to be faced with obstacles to their love in the days to come. When it comes to love for anyone, and especially for Alexis and Neil, nothing ever comes easy.
