Whoopi Goldberg Breaks Disney’s Rule
You could get banned from Disney‘s theme parks if you break this rule. Whoopi Goldberg warned others not to do it as well.
The View host is making the talk show rounds this week. She’s promoting her new book, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me.
On Wednesday, July 10, she appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers. The comedian shared one of the stories from her book. Whoopi wanted to honor her later mother by spreading her ashes in a special place. Most people want their ashes spread at the sea.
Whoopi Goldberg’s mom wanted to have hers spread at Disneyland, which is against the rules. Guests could get permanently banned if they attempt it. “No one should do this. Don’t do it,” Whoopi told the audience.
“She (her mom) loved Small World. So, in the Small World ride, periodically, I’d scoop up some of her and I’d do this poof, and I said, ‘My God, this cold is getting worse and worse!’ And then we got over to the flowers where it says, ‘Disneyland’ and I was like, ‘Oh, look at that! Poof.'”
Whoopi confessed to the Disneyland guest members what she had done. They warned her about the dangers of spreading ashes. It can be dangerous to have ashes spreading around on some of the attractions.
Spreading Ashes on It’s a Small World Attraction
Whoopi Goldberg shares more details in her book, Bits and Pieces. It was her mother’s favorite attraction. It was also the perfect way to honor her late mother.
“It was her vision of what human beings should be, these children of the world: all colors, religions, and cultures together. Disney had made it seem possible that all the kids of the world would hold hands in unity,” Whoopi explained.
Whoopi didn’t get caught for spreading her mom’s ashes. She pretended as if she was sneezing. What are your thoughts on Whoopi Goldberg breaking Disney’s cardinal rule? Have you tried to spread a loved one’s ashes at Disneyland? Sound off below in the comment section.
