According to a new book by Robert Jobson, which will provide fans an indepth look into Catherine, the Princess of Wales, King Charles and Prince William heavily clashed over issues relating to the latter’s family.
With Harry and Meghan’s years of crusade against the royal family, one might forgive King Charles for being on his guard to protect the Monarchy from two of its biggest critics. When Queen Elizabeth the II was alive, it was said that she expressed concerns over William flying with his entire family.
Robert Jobson Claims King Charles Is Scared of the Prospect of Harry and Meghan Becoming King and Queen
With King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, he was reminded of his own mortality and reiterated the late Queen Elizabeth’s advise to William, which warned him against traveling with his entire family.
Jobson wrote: “After being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles — perhaps reminded of his own mortality — echoed his late mother’s concerns.”
He continued: “And when William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted that he sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions. It would be scant consolation, of course, for an unspeakable tragedy, let alone for the prospect of King Harry and Queen Meghan…”
It is said the late Queen advised William against his helicopter flights due to living with the memory of the 1967 crash that killed the Captain of the Queen’s Flight.
He wrote: “One recent source of disagreement is William’s stubborn refusal to take his father’s advice on safeguarding the succession. Earlier this year, the King had raised concerns with his son about the wisdom of William using his helicopter to fly his entire family around the country.”
“An experienced pilot, William had upset the late Queen when he defied her request not to pilot his family the 115 miles from Kensington Palace to Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk. The Queen, haunted by the 1967 crash that killed the Captain of the Queen’s Flight (although no royals were on board), ‘did not hold back’, one aide said.”
The book’s description claims that it will lead fans through Kate’s years as a university student to a Queen in waiting.
The blurb reads: “From Robert Jobson – with his extensive connections within the royal household – this revelatory new biography tells the full story of how Catherine, the Princess of Wales, became the woman she is today.”
