The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that production has been halted. There is no indication of when it will be safe for cast and crew to resume work. At the time production was halted, there were a few weeks worth of episodes, but as time goes on, the soap is running low on their filmed backstock. Similar to how UK soaps are getting creative to stretch episode availability, they plan to air classic Y&R episodes.
How Many New Episodes Have Been Filmed?
According to TV Line, Y&R spoilers state that there are 4 to 6 weeks of new episodes filmed and ready to air. Responding to a fan question on Instagram, Tracey Bregman said they film one month ahead.
However, it has already been about one to two weeks since soaps have shut down production (they all announced shutdown at different times). That means there are only about a few weeks left of new Y&R episodes before they run out.

Y&R Spoilers: End Of Production Halt Unknown
Initially, many soaps estimated they would only be shut down for two weeks, although no guarantee resume dates were given. Considering that the coronavirus pandemic is just getting worse, fans have to accept the fact that production might not resume for quite some time.
How UK Soaps Are Handling Broadcasting Issues
In the UK, networks are coming up with creative ways to handle broadcasting issues. In order to extend the time that new episodes are available, many of the soaps are only airing 2 to 3 days a week instead of their regular schedule. This extends the availability of new episodes from a few weeks to several months.
The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that American soaps are going to have to get creative soon, too.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers: When Will Classic Episodes Air?
An exact date has not yet been announced and stars are asking fans which episodes they would like to see again. Everything is chiming in their favorite scenes that they would love to see aired again. However, there is speculation on social media that they could air the classic episodes on Fridays, but that has yet to be confirmed.
What classic episodes would you like to see to fill in the “gaps” and extend the amount of time that new episodes have to air? Do you have any favorite moments you would love to relive?

It will be refreshing to get a chance to actually watch classic Y&R episodes and seeing some of the other cast of characters. I am sick of watching this new Y&R Phyllis show these days, so yes really looking forward to the older better writing and a more evenly balanced cast of characters.
Probably not. I love the new episodes but the old ones have been here and gone. I understand why they have to do this but I likely won’t be among the watchers.
Yes I’ll watch because it will be good not having to watch the song bird and her lover. I would like to see the very first Y& R
She’s the ORIGINAL Phyllis!
Yes, and Y&R is becoming the new Phyllis Show. Actors don’t own parts if they did we would never get to see wonderful talented actors win Oscars playing roles many actors have done before them, Little Women, Cleopatra, etc. Personally I think Gina was the better Phyllis and a way better actress. Since Stafford has returned Phyllis has been dragging this show down. It wouldn’t be so bad if she was only in the odd episode but having her greedily take up so much time which could be given to some of the more entertaining characters/actors is extremely annoying and disappointing.
Yes I will be turning in to watch old episodes. Would like to see the first episode. The new Adam grow on me but would like to see episode of the last two Adams.
Start from the beginning. Love the original families.
Love to see being again when it started
why not show the stories that we have not been able to see since this shut down started??
I’d love them to start the Classics not with random ones, but from DAY ONE, from March 1973! Just run it from the very first episode, and let it play day by day until we’re back in “real time”… But random Classics bother me, because they’re disjointed… This way, it’s seamless from the start… We’ll probably have an entire month or two of Classics. And a week before showing us NEW episodes again, they should repeat the final week we’ll have seen so we’re caught up again for when the new episodes begin…
someone mentioned from the beginning and just air until they are caught up with the recent… that sounds like a very good idea.
Yes that is an awesome idea. I’d love to see the beginning.
