There are only nine days until the couples decide if they want to stay married or not. Katie and Derek are driving in the car when she asks him about his past relationships. They each talk about what went wrong prior to meeting one another. They arrive at the home they will be staying at on their getaway. Jessica and Austin arrive shortly afterward.

Brandon is at home waiting for Taylor. The night before she hung out with friends and didn’t come home, telling him she stayed at a hotel and fell asleep. He really wants to address this with her on the retreat. On their ride there he puts his headphones in and takes a nap because he doesn’t feel like fighting with her just yet. She gets annoyed.

That night, Katie and Jessica sit and have a drink and talk. Katie tells her that she wants passion and they don’t have any yet but she’s hoping they will eventually. They have communication problems a lot. Jessica talks about how she and Austin aren’t that great because he just recently shared that he travels a lot.

Meanwhile, Derek and Austin share a few laughs and drinks over the fact that women confuse them. Taylor and Brandon show up at the retreat. He is still irritated and feeling trapped. He hasn’t talked to Taylor about their issues and now he’s at a retreat with the other couples who are practically strangers to him.

Brandon and Taylor go outside on the patio to see Jessica and Katie. He quickly excuses himself. Taylor tells the ladies that Brandon ‘s just up and down. Michael and Meka are on their way to the retreat. She is excited to go and have fun. He isn’t that excited. She talks to him about how she would like them to have a good weekend without any awkward conversation. He doesn’t say that much, going silent. She talks about their recommitment and if they’ll be able to make progress. He sits there and rolls his eyes. A little bit later, they arrive at the retreat.

Right away at the retreat, the ladies recognize that Meka is not happy. Michael goes to make himself a drink. The rest of them are cooking.

The ladies sit down to eat dinner. The men are outside drinking. Derek and Austin come in to eat. Brandon and Michael stay outside. They talk about whether or not they want to do shots. Michael and Brandon finally come in to eat. Neither one of them wants to do a shot. Taylor gets annoyed that Brandon doesn’t want to have a little fun. He reminds her that he needs to work all day tomorrow.

Sitting at the table, Derek makes a bunch of jokes to Taylor. Katie gets annoyed. She doesn’t understand why he likes all the other wives but her. He continues to sit next to Taylor and the two are very touchy. Katie said she’s going to throw up. The subject of Austin and Jessica exchanging I love use comes up. Jessica admits that she has told him how she feels. He doesn’t want to tell her the three words until he’s absolutely 100% there. Derek makes a joke and tells Katie that he really likes her. She gets up and leaves the room with her drink, she’s had it. Jessica feels bad because she just wanted to share the goodness of her relationship.

Meka and Jessica go to find Katie who is steaming over the fact that Derek didn’t come after her. She tells them how he doesn’t seem teachable, he doesn’t initiate anything and he doesn’t do anything.

Michael and Brandon are outside talking. Brandon keeps trying but doesn’t feel like he’s getting anywhere. Inside the house, Taylor is telling Austin and Derek about how she doesn’t get anything in return from Brandon. Outside, Brandon is telling Michael all about how Taylor didn’t come home. Michael tells Brandon how his uncle recently died and it made him cry and Meka did nothing to console him.

Inside the house, they’re all hanging out and having drinks. Katie has come back to the table but leaves 10 minutes later after she feels like he is being overly friendly to Taylor. He chases after her and she explains the situation. They go back-and-forth until she storms out of the room and tells him to leave her alone.

He approaches her outside and tells her he is sorry. She tells him she hates that he talks more to other women than her. He tries to defend himself. She gets up and yells she is done, walking off.

Jessica cannot believe the retreat is turning out this way, she tells Austin. They are happy, kissing goodnight.

Meka tells Michael they should sleep separately tonight. He tells her cool. She doesn’t know what is wrong with him. He heads to another bedroom.
