‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: 2024 – Who’s Going, Who’s Coming, Who’s Returning, Who’s Gone?

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal who’s going, who’s coming, who’s returning, and who’s gone since the beginning of 2024. There have been several big cast changes in the past several months, and there’s also been some characters recast.

General Hospital Spoilers – Soaps Change Characters All The Time

Soap operas are known for their ever-changing cast, and this year has been no exception for GH. We’re diving into the most significant updates from the first nine months of 2024, including the recent jaw-dropping revelation involving Kelly Monaco.

After six decades on the air, this beloved daytime drama continues to deliver its signature blend of passion, intrigue, and adventure.

Showcasing the lives of the vibrant and evolving residents of the fictional Port Charles in upstate New York, there have been lots of changes.

Recently, several stars have taken temporary breaks, and there have been some surprising departures-on a brighter note, fans have also enjoyed the return of some beloved actors!

GH Spoilers – Nicholas Alexander Chavez And Avery Kristen Pohl-GONE

On January 26, it was announced that actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez would be stepping away from the show for a while. His last appearance as Spencer Cassadine aired on January 31, as reported by Deadline.

Nicholas is also featured in Ryan Murphy’s newly released series, Monster, which focuses on the Menendez brothers. UPDATE: As of April 25, it has been confirmed that he will not be returning to the show.

In addition to Nicholas Chavez, Avery Kristen Pohl has also left her role as Esme Prince when her character was killed off. It remains to be seen if Spencer will return as a recast, but nothing can be ruled out.

General Hospital Spoilers – Comings And Goings February-March 2024

Steve Burton, who recently left Days of Our Lives after a year, returned to General Hospital in early 2024. He reclaimed his role as Jason Morgan again after departing in 2021 due to the show’s vaccination policy.

His first episode back aired on Monday, March 4-also, according to Soap Opera Digest, Kody Kavitha debuted as  the new manager of Bobbie’s, named Hunter-she’s appeared in SWAT and Awkward before.

Additionally, Virginia Ma will play Nina’s new assistant, Madison, having previously been on The Thundermans and Magnum PI. Earlier, Lydia Look returned as Selina Wu in February 2024 but hasn’t been seen again.

GH Spoilers – Comings, Goings, Returns And Recasts

Adam Huss has been on as Nikolas Cassadine twice since the start of the year, and Cassandra James also is appearing more as Terry Randolph, with Parry Shen returned as Brad Cooper.

Hudson West has gone temporarily as Jake Webber, as the character goes to art school in Spain-but he’ll be back.

Enzo De Angelis has left the show as Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) son Aiden Spencer and he has been replaced by Tristan Riggs, according to Soap Opera Digest.

He made his debut on May 2. Elizabeth’s oldest son Cameron Webber (William Lipton) left and returned briefly for Spencer Cassadine’s funeral. James Patrick Stuart and Scarlett Fernandez also left a couple months back but storyline predictions indicate they’ll be back soon.

General Hospital Spoilers – The Gregory Chase And Hamilton Finn Family Exits, More Cerullo And Quartermaines Came

Also permanently exiting the show were Gregory Harrison as Gregory Chase, when the character succumbed to ALS. Shortly after, Michael Easton left as Hamilton Finn, although the character continues to be mentioned in rehab.

Prior to that, at the wedding of Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) a new Cerullo cousin arrived named Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).

Ellen Travolta returned as Brook Lynn’s grandmother Gloria Cerullo briefly, then exited after the wedding, as did some other Cerullo side relatives. Gio is staying.

GH Spoilers – Big Returns And New Characters Introduced

There have been several big returns in addition to Steve Burton’s as Jason, and some new characters introduced. Bryan Craig made a guest appearance as Morgan Corinthos who talked his suicidal father Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) off a roof.

Jonathan Jackson has returned to GH in a long term role as Lucky Spencer, along with a new big bad named Carlos Rota who plays Ulrich “Jenz” Sidewell. Emma Samms is back as Holly Sutton, in an important storyline connected to Lucky’s return.

Rick Hearst also returned recently as Ric Lansing, after being absent from the GH canvas for several years-Michael E. Knight has also returned as Martin Grey.

General Hospital Spoilers – Important Recasts

Lulu Spencer (formerly Emme Rylan) has recently been recast with Alexa Havins, confirmed by Emme. “Yes, it is true,” Emme tweeted. “General Hospital has decided to recast Lulu.

Although I am very disappointed, I am glad to finally have closure.” The two-year-old twin girls Riley and Miley Plonski are the new actresses playing the role of Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) daughter Bailey Jones.

The return of Lucky is closely tied in to Lulu’s storyline, her liver is failing and she needs a transplant. Lucky’s being held in Africa by Sidwell.

GH Spoiler – John J. York Returned

John J. York recently made his triumphant return as Mac Scorpio! After stepping away from the show in September 2023 to focus on his health while battling myelodysplastic syndrome and smoldering multiple myeloma, he’s back and feeling great.

John shared that his comeback was “fantastic and felt effortless. Just like when I announced my temporary departure and received warm hugs from everyone, I walked into my dressing room, and then received an incredible embrace from all my colleagues on stage.

A long delayed storyline in which Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) finally admitted to Mac he lied about the DNA match as his son was resolved, but not without drama!

General Hospital Spoilers – Adam J. Harrington And Tonja Walker Gone

Adam J. Harrington, who just took over the role of John “Jagger” Cates in February, was killed off in September. Previous to that Tonja Walker’s role as Olivia Jerome was eliminated offscreen, and the actress found out through Twitter.

The Jagger murder storyline will have far reaching repercussions as Sonny did it but his family is covering it up.

There’s a good chance that Jagger’s killing will lead to another character’s death as a falsely accused character has been arrested. More on that later!

GH Spoilers – One Came, One Left, Two Guest Appearances

Jacqueline Grace Lopez left the show as Alison “Blaze” Rogers in a blindsiding exit, the actress claiming she was fired.

Her mother, Natalia Ramirez was cast with Eva LaRue in the role and a possible love interest for Sonny. There was a guest appearance by Perez Hilton as himself in connection with Jacqueline’s exit as Blaze.

Recently, there was a special guest appearance by Sarah Sherman of Saturday Night Live fame as Robin Finch, a dialect coach. She was brought in by Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) to get rid of Lois Cerullo’s (Rena Sofer) Bensonhurst dialect-that’s not going over so well with some!

General Hospital Spoilers – New Doctor In Town

Connected with the Lucky storyline, Sawandi Wilson recently joined the show as Isaiah Gannon, a transplant surgeon broken out of Sidwell’s compound by Lucky.

His first appearance was on August 26 and it looks like he may be paired with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) as a love interest.

There’s a chance he may also be involved with Lulu’s eventual liver transplant, still ahead-he’s already gotten acquainted with several friends and relatives of Lucky and Lulu.

Sawandi’s role as Isaiah is contract, meaning he will be staying with the show. He’s best known for his Star Trek franchise work.

GH Spoilers – Sam McCall Killed Off!

Getting back to that connection to Jagger’s murder, Sam McCall, who’s been temporarily recast by Lindsey Hartley several times recently is doomed to die!

Kelly Monaco was blindsided when she got the news after being a part of GH and the GH family for over twenty years. Currently, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is in Pentonville after being witnessed throwing a gun into the river off Robin’s Bridge and Sam plans to go diving for it.

It’s not the murder weapon and everyone knows it-same millimeter but finding the gun would clear Alexis and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) who got it from Sonny’s safe.

An ominous anvil was dropped in dialogue recently about the choppy waters of the river underneath by Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)-will Sam be killed diving and Lulu get her liver?
