Every once in a while we’re reminded of the reason the phrase “the internet is not for the faint-hearted” exists. Jennifer Lopez once sang “nobody wants to be the one breaking up,” and while that is true, something else is even more true.
High profile divorces are usually the hardest to navigate due to the million outside voices feeling like they could weigh in at any one time and dissect your marriage as if it’s one of those Lego castles they could choose to build up whichever way they like.
Well, say what you want about JLo, the actress, singer, businesswoman and mother knows she’s a good person and won’t be letting anyone’s judgement change that for her.
Jennifer Lopez – Reacts To Internet Backlash Over News She’s Filed To Divorce Ben Affleck
Many fans will tell you that they weren’t surprised when Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August, because they knew it was coming. You needn’t put yourself in the “Hypnotico” hitmakers shoes to know that that’s a hurtful sentiment to propagate online.
In her cover story interview with Interview Magazine, Lopez shared how her “whole f—ing world exploded” after she cancelled her ‘This Is Me…Now’ tour and reached the end of her romance with the ‘Daredevil’ star Ben Affleck.
“I know that everything that’s being written and said about me, and all the conjecture of who I am as a person, is not who I am. I learned that a long time ago,” the ‘Marry Me’ actress said.
“And social media, because it came along after I had been in the public eye for a while, I don’t take it as seriously as everybody else,” she continued. “I know I’m a good person. I know I’m a good mom. I know who my friends are. I know my friends know who I am, my mom, my dad, all that stuff.”

Jennifer Lopez – Knows Online Trolls Is Part of the Show Business
Every job has its “occupational hazards” and Lopez’s is dealing with online trolls turning her into a punching bag every other day. For anyone who wants to play the entertainer game for a long time, learning to have thick skin is a top priority.
“Some people are going to love you and some are not going to understand you, and some people just want to hate you to hate you, and none of that really matters,” Lopez said “What matters for me, as an artist, is doing work that inspires me and that I enjoy doing, whether it’s a huge commercial success or something that only touches one person that nobody ever f—ing even sees.”
However, at the end of the day, Lopez knows she’s in the right place doing the right thing. “This is my life’s passion. I love to sing. I love to dance. I love to act. I love to entertain. I love to create,” she said, adding, “Please don’t get me wrong, if I see something that’s hurtful, I’m not Teflon.”
