General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny’s Story Must Pivot Away From Carly — But Who Loves Him Enough to Jump on Board This Dumpster Fire?

General Hospital Spoilers claim Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) followed orders like a champ when his own son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), stumbled upon him after he killed FBI Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) and told him to find Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and secure his alibi. Michael operated seamlessly as though he’d done this before.

Sonny was quick to tell Carly it was critical that she cover for his whereabouts, and she was so used to having his back that she didn’t even ask why — until it was too late. The implication that they were up in Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliott) room knocking boots came later, and it seemed to stick.

General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Spencer Is Stressed

Neither of them realized it would require such an extensive and burdensome lie to carry out their alibi in a believable fashion.

Now that Carly is stressed to the point of being ready to recant her statement, we have to wonder whether someone else will step in and try to protect Sonny as he deliberates turning himself in.

GH Spoilers— Olivia Quartermaine Is Taken

Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) has been there through thick and thin for Sonny, but that doesn’t mean she will jeopardize her marriage to Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) to spare the mobster from the consequences of his own bad behavior.

Olivia doesn’t exactly owe Sonny that kind of favor, and we can rest assured Ned would never go for pretending she had an affair just to help a renowned criminal. Thus, she would have to lie to Ned and say she actually did.

General Hospital Spoilers — Brook Lynn Quartermaine And Harrison Chase Will Be At Odds

While highly unusual to see couples with large age gaps on GH, it would shock everyone if Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) lied and said she was the woman Sonny was alone with during Cates’ murder.

She’s been known to go to great lengths to defend her “Uncle” Sonny, but that might be taking it a bit too far. Besides, she’s a newlywed who is trying to have a baby with hubby, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

He’s not going to cosign that fraud any more than Ned would, meaning Brook Lynn too would have to break Chase’s heart and let him think she actually did such. Their marriage would be toast.

GH Spoilers— Leave It To Lois Cerullo

Of course, there is one single person at the W mansion who stands to lose very little in the personal relationship department by going to her for Sonny in this context.

Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) could claim she was actually the woman Sonny bedded — in her ex-mother-in-law’s bed. It would give Sonny cover, but this lie wouldn’t necessarily protect Carly.

They’d also have to come up with a compelling reason as to why they lied and said it was Carly.
