James Middleton Spills Tea On Prince William’s “Excuses”

British royal family news reveals that James Middleton is spilling tea on his brother-in-law and we’re here for it. James is Princess Catherine’s younger brother and apparently Prince William shies away from one Middleton family activity in particular. According to James, William finds the Middleton’s way too competitive when it comes to cards. Yes, but have any of them written trashy books about the royals?

Kate’s brother lives in Berkshire and he was a teen 13 when his Kate and the Prince of Wales began dating. He told the Walking The Dog podcast author and animal lover Emily Dean that in the early days William was often invited to dinner, a meal usually followed by a card game he calls racing demon.

James described racing demon as a competitive form of Patience or Solitaire. According to James, once the pack of playing cards hit the table, William found excuses to wiggle out.

According to James “after family dinner, we would be sat there and the cards would come out, and [he would] perhaps see if Ella needed a walk or make an excuse to get down from the table.

Racing demon is probably the most fast-paced, competitive one that we all play together.”

In his book, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James expanded on William’s reluctance to engage with the Middleton when it came to competitive cards: “Ella gives [William] a good excuse to escape the fiercely competitive nature of the Middleton family, which emerges every time we play our favourite fast-paced card game, racing demon.”

“William flinches at our ruthless determination to win at all costs. He’s delighted to be the first out, and when no longer compelled to take part, he slinks off to cuddle Ella. I think he’d prefer to absent himself from the game entirely. ‘James, does Ella need a walk?’ he asks before we’ve even started dealing the cards.”

Royal Family News: James Middleton’s New Book

We don’t know about you but it’s warm stories like this that make us like William even more. He is raising a future king–who wants to be a chef before his reign–and he will be the next monarch.
