If ‘Yellowstone’ is going to go out, it’s going to go out with a big bang. But I gotta ask, are you sure Taylor Sheridan is ready to end ‘Yellowstone,’ because so far, all we’ve seen is massive action scenes that do nothing to show any type of ending, whatsoever.
Kevin Costner’s John Dutton Dominates ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Part 2 Trailer
“Everyone’s forgotten who runs this valley,” Costner’s John Dutton kicks off the trailer, saying. We hear dramatic music as the scenes flash through different familiar faces, and then “time to remind ’em.”
Yassssss, but if you think that’s the ultimate intensity we’ve got coming up, it isn’t. The thing is the Duttons are prepared to protect the family legacy – aka the ranch – with their lives, even as fierce rivals and enemies soar around them. But perhaps the enemy that may well do more harm is the one’s closest to them.
It doesn’t take long before someone is being pushed off a cliff or for Dawn Olivieri’s Sarah Atwood to try and convince Wes Bentley’s Jamie Dutton to do the unthinkable. “All old lions die at the doors of the younger lions,” she says, “and you are the younger lion.”
Things get more dramatic when Luke Grimes‘ Kayce makes a blood pact with Gik Birmingham’s Chief Rainwater. The latter, however, secretly meets up with Mo to declare, “This is the hill we die on.”
Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, always the worry wart when it comes to the family’s legacy, warns Kayce that he’s about to ruin the family’s name with his reckless actions.
“The war is just beginning,” John says, before Beth admonishes, “The only thing left to do is to kill as much as you can before they kill you.”
Let me just say that the intensity of the trailer makes for a truly thrilling ride, though we know Costner’s John – Dutton’s family patriarch – won’t be present in most of the episodes of 5B.
While this us the final trailer for the final season of the show, it does very little to tie up loose ends, meaning there’s a possibility season 5B won’t be the final goodbye.
As for John’s absence in the final episode of the show, it was always going to be that way and didn’t happen because of Costner’s controversial exit to film his own movie, ‘Horizon: An American Saga.’
