Hallmark+ ‘The Chicken Sisters’ – Will There Be A Season 2? Show Creator Drops Some Hints

The Chicken Sisters has received some rave reviews, and for those who aren’t aware of the eight-part Hallmark+ series, it’s time to take notice. The show has been adapted from the KJ Dell’Antonia book (of the same name) and was the very first complete show that has aired on the Hallmark Channel’s streaming service, Hallmark+.

Still, as the series finale recently aired, many fans are wondering if (and when) Season 2 is on its way.

Hallmark+ ‘The Chicken Sisters’ Season 2 – What We Know So Far

As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed about Season 2 for The Chicken Sisters. Still, thanks to its popularity, Hallmark might be giving it some time and reviewing numbers before they give the thumbs up. It seems inevitable, but you never know.

The show centers around sisters Mae and Amanda, who reunite during a reality show ‘Kitchen Clash’ that travels through Merinac, the small town where the two live.

Of course, the two ladies are in a heated feud thanks to their rival fried chicken restaurants (Mimi’s and Frannie’s), which have engaged many members within their respective families and the community.

The Chicken Sisters creator, Annie Mebane, recently spoke with Deadline about the show, its reception, and the possibility of a Season 2.

Hallmark+ ‘The Chicken Sisters’ Season 2 – “Great Reception”

Mebane mentions in her Deadline interview that the show has received, “anecdotally, great reception” so far. She notes the book was a good “jumping off point” to source content for the TV adaptation.

As the recent finale of the show dropped some seeds for another season, Deadline asked Mebane about this, and she answered, “A lot of that was planting seeds in case we were to get a second season.

The show is about family and sisterhood and the complicated relationship between these people and their healing, but it’s also about a rivalry between chicken restaurants. Once the Mimi’s and Frannie’s rivalry is done, there’s a new rivalry, between mom and pop, corporate versus franchise.”
