A recent update from Monsters and Critics highlighted the exciting sneak preview of Season 60. This glimpse offered intriguing details, such as the death of Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and the mysterious disappearance of John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
During a major event, Ken disclosed that Drake had given his blessing for the forthcoming storyline, which will culminate in John’s death after Drake’s real life passing in September.
Additionally, the executive producer announced that Days of our Lives will be returning to its foundational elements next year.
In a conversation with TV Insider, Ken assured fans that significant changes are on the horizon, urging everyone to remain patient.
DOOL Spoilers – Many Fans Are Not Pleased With The Body And Soul Storyline
Many fans of Days have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Body and Soul storyline. The silver lining is that this arc will conclude as Ron Carlivati’s tenure as head writer comes to a close.
Ken shared his thoughts on the transition, stating, “I felt it was time for a fresh perspective on the show, a new foundation, and a different narrative direction. Our previous head writer had a fantastic, lengthy run, but change is inevitable, and sometimes it’s necessary. This was one of those instances where it became evident to me.”
With the current filming schedule, viewers can expect Ron’s episodes to air until March or April of next year.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Big Changes And Exciting Storylines Ahead In 2025
Ken has shared that exciting developments are on the horizon for Salem in late spring and summer of 2025. Fans can anticipate numerous “powerful” moments that have the cast and crew buzzing with enthusiasm.
“The future is looking incredibly bright. We can expect some fantastic surprises by mid-2025; the upcoming stories will be amazing, and many beloved characters will be making their return. I believe it will be a truly rewarding experience for the audience,” he told TV Insider. Ken’s optimistic perspective follows a few tough years for the show.
DOOL Spoilers – Many Behind-The-Scene Challenges Happened For The Show Previously
The popular Peacock soap has been in the news for its behind-the-scenes issues since 2023, when co-executive producer Albert Alarr was let go due to claims of sexual misconduct and abuse.
Arianne Zucker, who plays Nicole Walker, was also “fired” for speaking out about the situation; she is now involved in a lawsuit against Corday Production Inc., Ken, and Albert.
She claims sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and poor hiring practices-then this year, the loss of Bill and Drake, which Ken noted had a significant effect on the series.
While he is optimistic about the future, Ken acknowledges that paying tribute to them will be emotional; “They were both iconic and among the seven great heroes of the show,” Ken said.
Stephen Nichols, who plays Steve Johnson, also paid tribute to both men after Day of Days, ahead of the upcoming tribute episodes.
