Not only did Jonathan play in a show called Nashville, he feels a very special connection to the city itself and it’s atmosphere.

During his time away from portraying Lucky on General Hospital, Jackson took on the role of Avery Barkley in the hit primetime series Nashville.
Airing from 2012 to 2018, the show provided him another opportunity to showcase his musical talents, aside from being lead singer of the band Enation and performances at the Nurses Ball.
It’s worth noting he isn’t the only GH actor with connections to the city or the show that bore its name.
Steve Burton once owned a steakhouse there-and Scott Reeves, who recently reprised his role as Steve Webber lives outside of Nashville and made some appearances on the primetime TV show as well.
In real life, Scott manages his nephews’ country band the Reeves Brothers-on the show Nashville he also played a manager.

Jonathan has recently graced the State of Mind platform alongside Maurice Benard, known for his role as Sonny Corinthos. During their engaging discussion, he explored not only the acclaimed television series Nashville but also the city that inspired it, reflecting on the impact it had on him and his family.
“Allow me to express this,” Benard commenced the dialogue on the subject of music; “His voice is akin to the celestial harmonies of angels-that’s the essence of his singing.”
This heartfelt tribute from Benard inspired Jackson to share insights about his father’s deep passion for music and the cherished memories of his childhood, where he would watch his father perform.

“As a child, Nashville held an almost mythical allure for me,” he confided to Benard, reminiscing about his father’s journey to the city to record music. “Then, at around 29 or 30, I unexpectedly found myself on a show called Nashville,” Jackson elaborated, revealing that he dedicated his inaugural performance at the Grand Ole Opry to his father. “This moment embodies my father’s aspirations, and I am here to pay tribute to him,” he reflected.
When he’s not reviving Lucky in Port Charles, Jackson frequently graces the stage alongside several of his former co-stars from the show. They are set to embark on a two-city Nashville Reunion Tour later this month.
